Digitizing TiVo Recordings

A brother is in need of something I TiVo'd and we have some geographical and other challenges. My TiVo has a USB port on the back. Does anyone know if I can put the show on a thumb drive or something and then upload it to a file-sharing service for him?

How do you connect to the Tivo service? If you have a wireless NIC on your Tivo you can transfer the show to a local computer and move the resulting .avi to a CD-ROM or thumb drive. I'll dig up the software and post again.

The Tivo software is here. I used to do this all the time when my boy was in Iraq. He likes NASCAR, which I'll never underrstand.
