I agree - a good story about a good person.

I never knew Dr John but met his Dad, the SecArmy, at Fort Benning when we were changed from the 4th Airborne Training Battalion to 1st Battalion 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment in Oct 1985. SecArmy Marsh pushed 'values' and his scoutmaster, the man he always said taught him to be a moral human being, was a paratrooper in the 507th who was KIA in the D-Day operations. The Airborne community wanted us to be the 501st, but SecArmy Marsh said we'd be the 507th to honor the man he most admired.

It sounds as if his son is a proverbial 'chip off the ol' block'.

My mother spent several years as an occupational therapist in the Shenandoah, working with in-home patients. I asked her if she knew Dr. Marsh, and she says that he's one of the best physicians she's ever worked with. She had no idea about his background, however.

That sounds like one heck of a perpetual work tempo.

Certainly a self employed calling.

Dr. Marsh lives and has been in practice just a little south of me. I have not met him, but he is well known in the area. He is a legend here, and award is spot on. The world is a better place because of the dedicated, hard work that Dr. Marsh brings to the practice of medicine. If you need a role model that personafies what a practice of Medicine should be, Dr. Marsh is it. Congratulations, Rob; well done!

Humble servant in the truest sense of the word.

Seems like they certainly picked the best to give the award to.

Well-done, sir!

Great article about a great American, soldier, physician, and man.

Thanks for sharing.

I was there when he was there, great guy.

I only have one story about him, wanting to wear all the gear/weapons we all wore/carried and stepping out of a Blackhawk with all that gear, very funny.

A great American.

It's rather inspiring to see someone use their God-given gifts to help so many.

Thank you for that post.

Over 50% higher than average patient load.

Broader/deeper range of patient services.

While sustaining a high patient satisfaction.

Candidate for Health Care Czar?

Or cloning/franchising perhaps?

If Dr. Marsh ever finds time to write a book I'd read it.
