Couldn't find this anywhere else; hope this is the right place.
Looking beyond the questionable name of the documentary (America's Secret Killers) and the probably uninformed discussion of classified units, I had the impression that this documentary might accurately showcase the many difficulties of conducting COIN operations. As a civilian, I believe to have gotten a feeling for some of the frustration our soldiers must face while conducting these operations/campaigns, as well as how often they might find themselves in "damned if we do, damned if we don't" scenarios.
Among the people interviewed in the production are:
- Gen. Petraeus
- Lt. Col (ret.) Jon Nagl
- Dr. Kilcullen
There are also interviews with various Taliban leaders/fighters.
Part 1,
Part 2,
Part 3,
Part 4
I would be very interested in hearing the QP's comments.
