J-20 Chinese Stealth Fighter

Look familiar?

Chinese Military Buildup Apparent Ahead of Gates Visit
Fox, 5 Jan 2011

The first clear pictures of what appears to be a Chinese stealth fighter prototype have been published online, highlighting China's military buildup just days before U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates heads to Beijing to try to repair defense ties.

The photographs, published on several unofficial Chinese and foreign defense-related websites, appear to show a J-20 prototype making a high-speed taxi test—usually one of the last steps before an aircraft makes its first flight—according to experts on aviation and China's military.

The exact origin of the photographs is unclear, although they appear to have been taken by Chinese enthusiasts from the grounds of or around the Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute in western China, where the J-20 is in development. A few experts have suggested that the pictured aircraft is a mock-up, rather than a functioning prototype of a stealth fighter—so-called because it is designed to evade detection by radar and infrared sensors.

But many more experts say they believe the pictures and the aircraft are authentic, giving the strongest indication yet that Beijing is making faster-than-expected progress in developing a rival to the U.S. F-22—the world's only fully operational stealth fighter.

China's defense ministry and air force couldn't be reached to comment on the latest photos. Even without official confirmation, however, the photographs are likely to bolster concerns among U.S. officials and politicians about China's military modernization, which also includes the imminent deployment of its first aircraft carrier and "carrier-killer" antiship ballistic missiles.

Such weapons systems would significantly enhance China's ability to hinder U.S. intervention in a conflict over Taiwan, and challenge U.S. naval supremacy in the Asia-Pacific region.

Way too big to be a fighter.

If that is real, and has the capabilities advertised, it is a bomber.

Either way, stealth is more of an offensive capability than defensive, and fits into the new power-projecting Chinese national security policy.

The Air force has completed initial photo reviews and has determined that this, in fact, may be a new class of stealth fighter.

The plain is 1/4 the size of a F-22. The Chinese have shrunk the envelop to save on fuel and enhance it's stealthiness..

Additionally,, The CIA has confirmed that when the Honorable Secretary of the TSA visited China on her World tour, that she met the pilot and interviewed him for a job with-in the TSA.

The Pilot, Generalissimo He Pingping, was actually looking up to the opportunity of getting into the TSA..

The following picture were taken on the steps of the Forbidden City...

The Chinese QA/QC is so bad that they cannot make jet engines that will fly twice without repairs. They just finished a major purchase of Russian fighters because of that.

If they rename that stealth fighter Kamikaze, then one should start to worry

The travesty is putting JN's head on top of those legs. Do photoshoppers have no shame?

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. Have a good bud just returned from China on business and he gave me some insight.
Hard working folks, many CEO's actually live at the factory in an apartment and go home on special visits.
Good work ethic.
He stayed in a brand new skyscraper hotel, very impressive initially but most everything broke. Faucets leaked, electrical outlets didn't work etc...shoddy construction.
He noted a lot of uneducated workers given meaningless jobs to have them employed.
Mixed bag assessment.
He goes to insure quality control because if left to their own devices you get none.

Update

Seems it is American technology most likely.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/...n7274614.shtml

Quote:
Chinese officials recently unveiled a new, high-tech stealth fighter that could pose a significant threat to American air superiority - and some of its technology, it turns out, may well have come from the U.S. itself.

Balkan military officials and other experts have told The Associated Press that in all probability the Chinese gleaned some of their technological know-how from an American F-117 Nighthawk that was shot down over Serbia in 1999.
American science and technology is still widely copied.

Thankfully Chinese knock-offs rarely (if ever) come close to the quality of the original.

China's J-20 Stealth Fighter Is Already Doing A Whole Lot More Than Anyone Expected
BusinessInsider, 9 Mar 2012

New pictures of the China's J-20 Mighty Dragon stealth fighter have surfaced and are making their way across military blogs.

This newest round of photos show the J-20 in the skies somewhere over mainland China.

The prototype is said to be using the Saturn AL-31 turbofan engine developed by the Russians for their Su-27 air superiority fighter.

Reuben Johnson at The Washington Times reports the Chinese may be as much as 10 years away from producing an original stealth engine to slip into the J-20.

In the meantime, they'll have to take comfort in the fact that while the F-22 Raptor may be more agile and made entirely in the U.S., the Dragon carries more fuel and weapons than Lockheed's fighter.

The J-20's development is also moving along much faster than anyone had expected. Back in 2009, Gen. He Weirong, deputy commander of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force said in a TV interview that the J-20 wouldn't be operational until 2017-2019. That estimate will likely be revised if work continues at the current pace.

Bill Sweetman at AviationWeek points out that for all its headway, no one is yet sure what the J-20 is for. He speculates that given the aircraft's size and weapons bays, it may be used to "threaten intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets and tankers, by using stealth and speed to defeat their escorts."
