To a fellow soldier
You are resting in a beautiful and sacred place SMG, among brothers.

SGM Conner and I inprocessed into Fort Lewis together and found out that we were both headed to the same company as we chatted during some mundane finance brief. I'm a better person to have been able to learn from and spend time with him. I'll always remember the last time we spoke. It was the day before he was killed and my team had just come back in from an operation. He pulled me aside and told me "You guys did a great job." Six little words, but coming from someone like SGM Conner they meant an awful lot.
RIP, Brad...

If you can take a moment in your day to remember and pay respects to a fallen SF comrade SGM Bradly Conner on 9 May 08 (one year since he was KIA) by visiting the website that his sister set up in his honor. Brad was an incredible soldier, leader, friend and family man. Brad served with the 10th SFG(A) for ten years, serving as a team sergeant in 2nd Bn during OIF I and 1SG for HHC during OIF II and III and culminating as SGM C-2/1 SFG(A) when he was KIA outside Al Hillah by an EFP.
Brad is a veteran of Desert Storm, Kosovo and was on his fourth tour in Iraq. He always led from the front. A true hero to his family and those that served with him.
CSM Brad Conner Memorial
His sister wrote the following and is accepting donations for the "Brad Conner Memorial Scholarship". More info on the website:
Family & Friends,
I wanted to let everyone know that Brad has a website. Brad's high school classmates have established the "Brad Conner Memorial Scholarship". Brad graduated from Kellogg High School in 1984. Kellogg is a small town located in beautiful North Idaho. The class of "84" has worked very hard planning & raising monies for Brad's scholarship. The first scholarship will be awarded May 14th. I want to encourage everyone to visit the web site and sign the guest book. Please include how you know Brad (family, friend, classmate, soldier, etc..). When you have signed the guest book, know that it may take a few days to appear. All entries have to be screened before they can be added.
Also,
The second annual "Brad Conner Memorial Golf Tournemant" will be held this July (you can read about it on the web site). All the money raised at this event will go directly to the scholarship fund. The classmates are looking for people to golf, have dinner and particitape in the silent auction & raffles. You don't have to be a golfer to come and enjoy this event. If anyone wants to donate auction items, please don't be shy. You can never have to many items for an auction/raffle. If you are unable to attend this event, but still want to help, any cash donation can be sent to the address listed on the web site. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail.
Thanks to all,
To Brad's Soldiers,
I have only had the privilege of meeting a few of you. I want as many soldiers as possible to sign the guest book. Please forward this e-mail onto other soldier that knew & served with Brad. Thank you.

DH - I read your post of 4 years ago, Brad was killed before I joined PS.com, it hits hard when I come across a TAPS thread of someone I knew.
I may have to take a day or two and read all of the TAPS, so I'm not surprised when another fallen brother re-appears. None the less, a "Bumped" thread is never a bad thing.

Rest in Peace Brad.
