Wyatt was my teammate, partner-in-crime, and brother. Buddy, it has been the honor of my life to escort you on your last journey from the battlefield to the United States.

I want everyone to know that during one of our many arguments about whose MOS was better he told me, "There is nothing better in life than fighting alongside your brothers and saving your buddies lives." He was doing both when he was killed. We love and miss you already.

RIP SSG Goldsmith.

(BTW: I worked with both of his parents when they both worked for the King County Sheriff's Department. John & Lori Goldsmith)

Be Thou At Peace

I learned of Wyatt's death through the National Ski Patrol grapevine and although I never had the pleasure to patrol with him I had heard of his warm heart, impeccable character and love of helping and protecting his fellow man. His loss saddens all of us deeply and I want to send my condolences to his family and to his SF brothers who he served with and all those he touched.

I was inspired by your story and had desired to serve after college but had also began to think of other plans. I know I must stand up and do my duty and I wear a KIA bracelet with your name to remind myself of the sacrifices of those who volunteer for hazardous duty to defend us even though most of us never know or seek out your heroism and sacrifices done for us. I cannot thank you enough.

Be thou at peace.
