In a perverse way, it’s a skill, really. Just not a skill anyone would want. A reverse Midas touch; a jinx, if you will. Whatever you want to call it, liberals have an incredible ability ruin everything, and they’re on the job 24/7.

Remember when you could watch a TV show or go to the movies and not have to be bombarded with left-wing political messages, either blatant or subtle? When you were entertained by entertainment and you went to church if you wanted to be preached to. That’s not the case anymore.

The “progressive” church is politics, political correctness their gospel, and government their God. And like 7/11, they never switch off the lights.

You can’t watch a network TV show or go to the movies without some jab or crack about conservatives or President Trump. Republicans are the perps on crime dramas and businesses adopt a “we can increase profits by killing a bunch of people” business plan regularly in Hollywood’s fever dreams.

Hollywood have been overrun by leftists for years, so a liberal message in their products is almost second nature now. But other areas of entertainment had been left alone. Not anymore.

In the sports world the locker rooms have become MSNBC, post-game press conferences are now CNN. Sports journalism is NPR.

Athletes have always had political opinions, they just mostly kept them to themselves. Their job, which pays them extremely well, is to put butts in seats, bring eyes to TVs, sell team merchandise, and plug their sponsors, attacking half of your potential customer base’s personal beliefs is bad for the bottom line. That no longer matters.

When the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles originally agreed to go to the White House to celebrate their victory, as has been tradition, the vast majority of the team was going to attend, according to reports. But when the date approached, the team changed their story and only a couple of players and the team mascot was going to show up. They were, however, willing to show up the following week when only people living under a rock didn’t know the President would be in Singapore at the North Korean summit.

Donald Trump, with the Eagles’ thumb in his eye, simply cancelled the event. To Hell with the tradition if the team is going to play games like that. It was the right call, and the smart play on behalf of the White House, but it never should have happened.

When a championship team goes to the White House to be recognized they aren’t celebrating a president, they’re being celebrated by whoever happens to be the president at that time. They go and are honored by the office, not the occupant.

There have been individual athletes who’ve opted against attending White House events over who its occupant was, but they were few and far between. Now LeBron James and Steph Curry, the two biggest stars in the NBA, have already announced that no matter who wins the title this year, the team isn’t going to the White House because of Trump.

In 2012 the media attacked Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas for skipping a visit when Barack Obama was president. “Tim Thomas put himself above team,” declared ESPN. Bleacher Report, a popular sports website, was even more blatant when they decreed, “until Tim Thomas gives back that money and retires out of his contract, he is the millionaire Boston Bruins goalie whose responsibility was a public appearance was at the White House and not Tim Thomas, the unpaid rights activist.”

Now whole teams are refusing to attend and the media justifies and cheers.

Everything is weaponized nowadays by the left in their relentless crusade to cripple President Trump. To his credit, Trump has out maneuvered them. Last year he chose to disinvite the Golden State Warriors when they were grumbling about skipping the honor, and he cancelled the celebration for the Eagles while turning the whole incident on the player protests during the national anthem. Suddenly the protesters were on the defensive, it was masterstroke of PR.

Now we have word that Miss America is ending the looks part of their pageant. Beauty pageants have long outlived their societal relevancy, and to remove the physical beauty aspect will likely be the last nail in their coffin.

I’m not a big fan of these things, but I do usually watch the last half hour or so. Without physical fitness and attractiveness being factors, the whole thing might as well be an essay contest.

Liberalism strikes again. Seems like the left won’t be happy until everyone has a bowl haircut and wears loose-fitting silver lame unitards while sharing a communal bathroom.

Liberalism ruins everything it sinks its talons into, and the election of Donald Trump sent them into a frenzy. Everything is politicized, and because of that, everything is marked for destruction. Entertainment doesn’t seek to entertain anymore, professional sports are now cable news, and harmless, fun traditions are being destroyed in the name of “progress.” All the while, journalists, who are supposed to be objective, cheer like they won something.

I don’t know how this is all going to end, but I know if liberals win it won’t be good. I wrote a whole book about it, coming out in a week and a half, exposing how these manipulations, both blatant and subtle, are attempting to mislead and indoctrinate an unsuspecting public. This week just happened to have examples that bubbled up to the surface, there are many more out there lurking because the liberal outrage mob never rests. We can’t either.

Seattle officials are moving to repeal a tax hike on large employers that was signed into law less than a month ago, backing down from a plan fiercely opposed by Amazon.com and much of the city's business community.

With Amazon and Starbucks funding a ballot challenge to repeal the tax, the city's Democratic mayor and a majority of its city council said they plan to strike down the tax levy they approved about four weeks ago. The new tax would have raised $48 million annually to combat Seattle's homelessness and affordable housing crises. The Seattle area has the third-largest homeless population in the country, according to federal statistics.

Washington's state government is narrowly controlled by Democrats, but at least one moderate Democrat in the legislature also opposed the head tax, calling it bad for the party's brand.

Pesky optics; you'd almost think there are mid-term elections coming or something.

I have been thinking a lot about the left and like many of you, am very much concerned. When dealing with people who refuse to listen or even acknowledge hard facts, how can such an evil ever be defeated? So I did some searching and found this article which really did not help matters and leaves me wondering even more what can be done.

I have minimal psychological skills, but what is written about seems solid. And while I think it definitely helped explain why some people refuse to change their minds, this part of the article was most chilling and I quote, “My beliefs protect me from so-called facts that try to undermine me and cause self-doubt. I’ve figured out my beliefs for myself, and nobody’s so-called facts are going to take them away.”

With universities indoctrinating our society with such evil ideologies, how will it ever change?

The only way to save Western civilization is to convince more people that leftism -- not liberalism -- is a nihilistic force. Quite literally, whatever the left touches it ruins.

So, here is a partial listing of the damage done by the left and the Democratic Party:

The most obvious -- and, therefore, the one more and Americans can resonate with -- is the near destruction of most American universities as places of learning. In the words of Harvard professor Steven Pinker -- an atheist and a liberal -- outside of the natural sciences and a few other disciplines (such as mathematics and business), "universities are becoming laughing stocks of intolerance."

If you send your children to a university, you are endangering both their mind and their character. There is a real chance they will be more intolerant and more foolish after college than they were when they entered college.

When you attend an American university, you are taught to have contempt for America and its founders, to prefer socialism to capitalism, to divide human beings by race and ethnicity. You are taught to shut down those who differ with you, to not debate them. And you are taught to place feelings over reason -- which is a guaranteed route to eventual evil.

The left has ruined most of the arts. The following three examples are chosen because they are scatological, a favorite form of left-wing artistic expression. Before the left poisoned the arts, art was intended to elevate the viewer (or listener). But to the left, "elevate" is a meaningless term; it is far more at home depicting urine, fecal matter and menstrual blood.

In 2011, a lifelike German sculpture depicting a policewoman squatting and urinating -- even the puddle is sculpted -- received an award from a prestigious German foundation, the Leinemann Foundation for Fine Art.

In 2013, the Orange County Museum of Art in California placed a huge 28-foot sculpture of a dog outside the museum, where it periodically urinates a yellow fluid onto a museum wall.

In 2016, one of the most prestigious art museums in the world, the Guggenheim in New York, featured a pure-gold working toilet bowl, which visitors were invited to use. The name of the exhibit was "America" -- so one could literally relieve oneself on America.

Thanks to the left, The Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the greatest orchestras in the world, allowed itself to become of a voice of leftist hate last week. It featured the premiere of Philadelphia Voices, "a political rant put to musical garbage," as some musically knowledgeable Philadelphians described it to me. In the fifth movement, titled "My House Is Full of Black People," the black teen narrator chants the following lines: "The county is full of black people/ All wanting to be heard/ While old white men draw lines on maps/ To shut all of them up." Later in the movement, he yells, "If you would all just f---ing listen!"

Uplifting, no?

On the left, that's considered art.

And, of course, such politicization of the arts is accepted as the norm.

Indeed, that's part of the left's poisoning of everything -- its politicization of everything.

The left is increasingly poisoning sports. In most football stadiums this past season, one could not attend an NFL game without being subjected to left-wing contempt for America and its flag.

So, too, one cannot watch late-night television if one desires to simply be entertained before drifting off to sleep. Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert and other hosts have changed late-night TV into left-night.

The left has poisoned mainstream religion. Mainstream Protestantism, non-Orthodox Judaism and much of the Catholic Church -- including and especially Pope Francis -- are essentially left-wing advocacy groups with religious symbols.

The left is destroying the unique American commitment to free speech. Almost half of incoming college freshmen do not believe in free speech for what they deem "hate speech" (merely taking issue with a left-wing position is, in the left's view, "hate speech"). They do not understand that the whole point of free speech is allowing the expression of opposing ideas, including what we consider "hate speech."

The left has poisoned race relations. America is the least racist multiracial society in the world. On a daily basis, Americans of every race and ethnicity get along superbly. But the black left and the white left constantly poison young minds with hate-filled diatribes against whites, "white privilege," "systemic racism," black dorms, black graduations, lies about the events in Ferguson, Missouri, and the like.

The left has made innumerable women unhappy, even depressed, with its decades of lying about how female sexual nature and male sexual nature are identical -- leading to a "hookup" culture that leaves vast numbers of young women depressed -- and its indoctrinating of generations of young women into believing they will be happier through career success than marital success.

And, in some ways scariest of all, the left is poisoning our children with its commitment to ending male and female as distinct categories. One of the great joys of life, celebrating one's sex, is now deemed nothing more than a hateful idea in many of your children's schools.

For these and other reasons, if you treasure American and Western civilization, fighting the left -- something all liberals and conservatives need to do -- is the greatest good you can engage in at this time.
