The "stupid" has been around a long long time. You're just pissed because your belief doesn't sport a cool beard............
Ha ha ha, classic!

TS is quite correct, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If observant Sikhs get to keep their beards, then damn sure observant pagans should as well...

However, I agree with PRB's underlying point - the military is NOT a social experiment nor is there a universal "right" for anyone to serve. While I respect the shit out of the Sikh's, if their religious beliefs require them to keep the beard, the answer should be "find some other way to serve your country, thank you".

Wearing a beard either interferes with your ability to wear protective equipment, or it doesn't. If it does, see my preceding paragraph. If it doesn't, then dammit, I want to grow my damn beard back!!!!! (without renouncing my current religious faith <g>)

BTW, I LOVE that pic of the rabbi on the previous page. Do you see the guys in the background of the pic, looking at him like "WTF?????"

Bingo! Exactly right. All the social experimenting/accommodating the military has engaged in the last dozen or so years is going to get a lot of people killed. Reminds me of the state of unpreparedness the US military was to actually fight WW2. Lots of soldiers, sailors and airmen died because of the folly of that generation's flag and senior officers.
The first order of business in restoring the military to greatness isn't buying new equipment from rifles to aircraft carriers to new fighters and bombers. The first thing that needs to be done is restoring order and discipline, along with the understanding that joining the military of the United States means you are putting aside YOUR personal beliefs and feelings for the greater good of the service.
We need warriors, the kind motivated and trained to break and kill the enemy, not social justice warriors and not mentally challenged deviants who can't figure out if they are a man or a woman.

The military has been a social experiment ever since it took up arms and marched. That ain't going to end anytime soon. Especially when you have generals and admirals that place themselves before their soldiers.

I can't wait for the first "Rat Worshipers" in the American military........ or the first Sky Burial performed at the local military cemetery.

Personally I really like the nekid witchcraft myself. Can't wait to see "Covens" open to military witches.

Just wait until The Church of Body Modification members get the memo. Then it's anything goes.
