While an unlikely scenario in this day and age, the real strength of the story is engineers bringing past experiences to the field.
An intriguing account of a critical moment during the Civil War where engineered solutions solved a major issue for the Union Forces. Many ridiculed the effort at the time including soldiers within the ranks however LTC Bailey's experience, knowledge and application prevailed.
