Thank you for that, TOMAHAWK! Do you think that anyone listened? I believe that there are many Americans that feel the same and don't see a need to articulate a "fair warning". I agree.

Respectfully,

Bob

This didn't take long, did it?

Well, this didn't take long, did it? (Looks like some people got what they wanted.)

They had that dusted off & announced just hours after the event; what you call a "shovel ready" project. Our democratic members of Congress have the same thing.

One of these days...the ‘enemy outside the gate’ is going to come home to a shore nearby and own by force everything they want - the military fighting to retake what was lost - will only result in the continued fratricide the enemy already planned on.

History shall repeat itself (Martin Niemöller - First they came for...)

Living down here and being a legal firearms owner/shooter, many of us felt it was inevitable.

Just waiting for the right crisis to exploit.

Not only did the offender spark this push for stricter gun control, but the biggest player in retail firearms also contributed to this narrative of irresponsibility with their past behaviour(long list of illegal/criminal activities up through and including incarceration in US federal prison for the illegal purchase and attempted exportation of firearms out of the US.).

Some of us have long felt this retailer would be directly involved in the further atrophy of gun privileges(privileges not rights here) due to their excess focus on profit over community leadership.

I think there's an inevitable conflict on the horizon. Once upon a time such a statement would be considered gross hyperbole, but not now. The experiment that was America was awesome while it lasted.

This is a letter from Chuck Baldwin against Senate Bill 7, the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act of 2019—otherwise known as a national “red flag” gun confiscation bill. A good read and something to pass on to friends and neighbors who may not know anything about this.

Here's how the article/letter begins:

"Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has announced that the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to begin conducting hearings next Tuesday, March 26, on Senate Bill 7, the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act of 2019—otherwise known as a national “red flag” gun confiscation bill. The bill was introduced in the Senate by Marco Rubio (R-FL). If this gun confiscation bill passes the U.S. Senate, it will most certainly pass the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives, and President Donald Trump absolutely WILL sign it into law.

I am writing this open letter to Senators Rubio and Graham, President Trump and the untold numbers of legislators, judges and lawmen that will be working together to facilitate and execute the confiscation of the arms of innocent American citizens—citizens who have not even been charged with a crime."

I know this discussion went on a couple of months ago. I'm posting this here because our so-called "representatives" in the Senate are going to be "discussing" the bill next week.

There are 30,000,000(+) Marlin lever guns, probably more Winchesters, 6 or 7 million ARs, untold numbers of bolt action rifles, handguns and shotguns in this Country. I can't see a gaggle of handwringin' nitwits making a dent in that.
Too early to "turn into the wall"; we're pretty much split down the middle, ideologically.
IMO, we need to be more concerned with infrastructure, commo and chow/fuel/high quality H2O when the www goes tits up. That's the elephant in the room.

GUN VIOLENCE?

Ralley in Phila. to stop Gun Violence @ 25 kids & "others" were protesting in center city. 2 teens that were former students at Stoneman Douglas High school in Parkland Fl. committed suicide that is the reason for the protesting. They did not use a gun.

“gun confiscation orders”

Only one bimbo, ex-spouse, vindictive employee or liberal neighbor away...a new potential for “SWATing”...criminals and mentally ill should never be allowed weapons...but these laws require built-in safeguards for the truly innocent.

As we witness in real time the legal “system” being far less than perfect...knowledge is power for legitimate owners.

Gun confiscation laws are new phenomena - thinking critically and being wary in this environment is a reasonable response.

That’s always the question isn’t it ?

Convicted felons are a relatively easy group to identify - mental illness is not always so easy...

IMO, the big issue with respect to the new gun confiscation statutes is really the protection of due process - a constitutional guarantee that appears to be eroding in some circles these days.

Oddly enough, because of our system of government, criminals and mentally ill are the ones making these distinctions.
We call them politicians and activists, but its the same thing.

Gun Control/Confiscation

Years ago, while on an extended "hiking and camping trip" in various Central American locales, a couple of fellows from 7th Group explained to us (any errors in this are mine alone, the result of the intentional killing of brain cells in my callow youth) that the goal of many rebel/revolutionary groups was to cause the government to pass extreme laws to piss off the population leading to revolution. Is my memory correct? Way back in the 20th century, a couple of law enforcement types posited a theory that there were a number of warehouses throughout the US full of "undocumented guns". These are long term investments by a number of different individuals, and organizations. The theory stated two reasons; outlawing legal ownership creates a Blackmarket that allows a large premium, it gives those organizations opportunities to launder and stash cash buying the warehouse etc. The second theory is that this is simply part of the Cartels business plan. Once the US civilian population is basically, legally disarmed, their meth, heroin etc. consumers will have fewer problems stealing. The cartels will provide guns to addict to increase and maintain cash flows. RUMINT for several years has put some very smart Wharton, Ivy League, Oxford etc Finance and Business folks on their payrolls. Don't know if the theories have any basis in reality or not. There is some resemblance to a couple of case studies on strategic planning I saw in B- school. As all of you are well aware, there is no end to conspiracy theories, I tend to pay attention to those that seem financially and logistically feasible.
We have at least one Sheriff refusing to enforce the latest gun control for the SC
I live in WA state, there are 10K homeless in Seattle, many living under freeway overpasses, the city council is Socialist, Cops are leaving because they cannot enforce the law. Our Governor, Jay Inslee is running for President because despite being clueless on how to address the homeless problem he is going to "Win the Climate War!" I'm trying to find out which Pot store he goes to and what his brand is. I'd like to invest a few bucks in the company. Be a great marketing idea, Vote for me! Smoke my stuff, save the environment while experiencing Inslee's alternate reality!! Not sure what is more disconcerting, that is his best thinking after four years as Gov or, that our friends and neighbors seem to agree with him.
On the upside, I was completely unprepared for what a Gas Grandkids are! With their arrivals, I have gained a new perspective on Karma and Karma Debts. We get to give them double chocolate espresso's and send them home with our Daughter.
Shortly after coming home from Vietnam, I was a Washington DC Cop for a couple of years. One night I asked my training Officer what was in all likelihood, a not particularly well thought out question. He answered in a thick West By God Virginia accent "Son, the reason Jesus wasn't born in Washington DC was that even God couldn't find Three Wise Men or a Virgin in this place. Remeber that when dealing with these folks. Still appears true today.
