Seriously though - save this post - it is one of the very few times that I will even get close to that dangerous line that some people refer to as "being serious"
The concept of 'deep fakes' is nothing new. Since the first dancing baby Gif back in the 80's people have been playing around with digital manipulation.
We all know it could never happen, but "if"
Just "if"

It did, still does, and will continue.
When I moved to the Florida Keys in 97, we started going annually to Fantasy Fest. It is a great two-week street party held in Key West culminating on All Hollows Eve. Suffice to say given the tropical weather, there is lots a very pretty people walking around with few if any clothes.
The question arose from a good friend's wife, "Geez, I'd sure like to have a body like that." Referring to a young lady with an abundance of Dolly Parton like features.
Not one to avoid a challenge, and with her permission, I use an early version of a product like photo-shop and created a portrait. I also did one for my wife.
After a short time, the picture had been circulated amount friends,, I start getting "requests". over time I have CGI's 50+ requests??
Because of the nature of the pics, all were created with extreme shifts, in reality, as comical characterizations.
BUT they could have been weaponized with little effort... :munchi
This is a pic of my wife and myself. At her insistence. it is one of the few alterations that I did to try to near-mirror reality, rather than create blatantly
mischaracterizations.
Now twenty years later, the quality and availability of CGI systems are boundless. A couple of months ago there was an article about the PORN industry going 100% CGI. The reason was ominous, 1)cheap actors, 2)actors that don't grow old, 3)"customized" actor physical looks, 4)actors that can do non-human feats.
I think one of the best examples of main-stream media reality CGI was the movie with Scarlett Johansson, "Ghost in the Shell". It not only worked the CGI to the max but the storyline was about a non-reality CGI being. The gotcha,, the CGI was used to mimic 100% normal human action & features, with only her abilities enhanced.
