Knowing that my experiences are unique. No one will ever be in the same place in the same situation with the same resources.

Knowing that I have an awesome team here with me.

Knowing that these days will make for some good stories... someday.

Happened last weekend but I'm just now getting around to telling people outside the family.

The belief that my girlfriends dog is in a better place, with no more pain and suffering. We had to put him down yesterday.

Happy thought: my 9 year old is gaining wisdom quickly.

He was listening to me joke with my wife about the logistics of my yearly excursion with my friends.
I'm supplying the RV, one friend is supplying the ammunition, another is bringing the beer.

With all sincerity my son interjected:
"If you've got lots of ammo and beer, you don't really need anything else."

He's on the right track already.

after caring for several dialysis and kidney-transplant patients who took the blunt force of being immunosuppressed, I am truly grateful for a normal-functioning body, two-working kidneys, skin free of ulcers (the peeled skin from ruck run doesn't count), fingers moving on demand, and so on....

that, and starting each day with the quote: "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift"

I survived the car buying process amost unscathed.

I ended up with a Mercury Milan.

One dealers used car manager just did not get it.. so I walked on the deal.
Called the other dealer, whose sales managers son and mine are best friends.. He sent one of his 'boy's out to get you"... who called and said,
"Hey girl where's your house, got something you will love." I did, 20 feet out of the driveway he had a deal.. god, I love living in the south and southern boys.

Got to go gator hunting last night. Mama has about 12lbs or so of properly cut gator tail in her freezer.. I got a pair of ruined slacks but who cares, I had loads of fun.

I concur, and remember that even in this day and age,it's possible to get married and stay married for 50 years..... We celebrated our anniversary this year...... The hardest part for her is when you get deployed...........
