Great white shark attacks inflatable boat off South Africa

A large great white shark recently attacked an inflatable boat off the coast of South Africa.

I bet those guys are going to use a regular boat next time.

Rigid bottom inflatables seem to be very popular in EU & OZ for SCUBA clubs. Note sure why.

The only thing they excel at is water entry.. They ride hard, have limited storage, and are comparatively expensive.

AND make lousy chew toys..

I love how the guy takes a picture and then they just sit there and watch.

I would have had an oar and beating the shit out of him. Always thought about what if a shark decided to taste my Zodiac while out to sea. Now I know what it would look like.

That's fucking stupid. Chumming the water for a white shark while sitting in a rubber boat.

I can't say it enough, that's just fucking stupid.

We do have a LOT of RHIBs down here.

But what's become quite popular are aluminium RHIBs such as this:

Way down here Great Whites/White Pointers seem pretty common in some places.

Probably similar to Farallon Islands off of San Fran.

We've got a spot just north of us with some White Pointers and absolutely rotten with Makos.

And there's a spot just south of us where White pointers can be found.

I've been in the water a good few times with blue, whitetip, and blacktip sharks.

Pretty cool experience. And I've always wanted to do a cage dive someday(bucket list) with great white/white pointer.

It looks like freediving with great whites/white pointers has been happening in recent years.

Maybe their behavior is becoming understood enough for a brave few to do it successfully.

Not me.

That sounds about as smart as "freewalking" with polar bears. Even if they just ate, maybe they're thinking there's always room for some human Jello.

The odds are a GoPro camera in FullHD will be recording it.
