It will be interesting to see what her podcast produces for sound-bytes in the closing weeks of the 2022 midterm elections.
I'd say its worth noting that she seems to have deliberately withheld comments that would verify that she "left" the democrats to become a republican. She is a skilled orator that made a point of appealing to "common sense independent-minded Democrats" which means she isn't done talking about her departure just yet...
...she was a Bernie supporter.
...she ended her campaign to endorse Lesko Brandon
...she was the DNC's vice chair for several years
...she is a fan of ending cash bail for criminals
...she is a fan of legalizing recreational drug use
...she talks big but still supports relaxing immigration laws
...she's a pipeline protestor
...she's a green new deal fan that wants to end fossil fuel use
...she spouts a position, then apologizes and changes it when the party scolds her
Of course, now that she ISNT an elected politician, she has reaffirmed her desire to "speak truth to power"
...just in time to expand her following and build support for her new podcast.
I've built such an absolute distrust of politicians, that I tend to view everything they say and do with suspicion, cynicism, and disbelief.
She "left" a party that is the exact same party now that it has been for the last 150 years. What changed?
Other than her podcast?
Good for her for seeking some spotlight - good for her for calling out that which has needed calling out for several generations - otherwise, she's just another out of work politician trying to pay her bills.

Her father is an anti-same sex marriage Hawaiian Republican State Senator. Not sure how their family luaus go.

When she was "young" and trying to get into polyticks - she had no problems helping daddy bash gayness.
Then she found the democratic party.
Then she changed her mind.
Then she changed it back.
Then she apologized and re-changed her opinion.
She talks about 'the 2nd' but voted against CCW legislation when she had the chance. She used a photo op to show herself running a semiautomtic pistol with a high capacity magazine but supports legislation that would keep "you" from having high capacity magazines. Just another militician using her uniform to help advance her profitability.
She talks about "principles" but voted "present" during a presidential impeachment proceeding.
The single most important thing a politician will EVER do while serving the nation as an elected representative - ATTEMPT TO FIRE THE PRESIDENT - and she couldn't be bothered to take a stand. At least Mittens had the ovaries to proudly own the right to being the first senator in US history to vote to impeach his parties president. Gabbard voted "present"
How very Obama of her.
