extreme cold weather gear

Alright, I hate to admite it or jinx anything but like it or not, winter is comming. That means cold weather and very cold weather. What do you guys prefer for extreme cold weather gear ? Include everything from parkas to boots to sleeping bags. It is not uncommon to have a hi wind chill with very low temps in winter . Around here -40 C is possible.

Myself, I just love the canadian extreme cold weather parka. it is very wind resistant wich is a plus . I also just love the sorel glacier boots. They fit my feet good and provide great warmth compaired to other boots I tried. Also got my canadian extreme sleeping bag . Just wished a had some type of gortex outer shell for water resistant in snow/ice.

I bought a package deal that included E.C.W.S. booties (socks?) Can anyone please tell me how they are used? Are they worn alone or with other socks for a layer protection? Thanks.

Apparently, now they're meant to be shaken.
