White Rattlesnake

Been in the news quite a bit here around San Antonio. So far I've seen three rattlers in my back yard this year, along with a coral snake. Guess I'll be a little slower letting the dogs out onto the concrete pad out back....

Just when you think you know what a rattlesnake looks like, think again. Have you ever seen a white rattlesnake? Well, now you have! Texas Parks & Wildlife shared a photo of the rock rattlesnake, seen at the Wyler Aerial Tramway in El Paso.

TPW said that rattlesnakes won't strike unless they are provoked and that if you come across one, to just give it space and leave it alone.

This is true for the most part. Mojave Greens are very aggressive, though. My wife encountered two and neither rattled and moved quickly toward her. She was able to shoot both. Not sure if they are in your neighborhood but be aware if you come west.

Interesting color on that one. What do the black markings match with?
