Baltimore Riots
After reading the full post, COO Angelos of the Baltimore Orioles is not condoning the riot/protest, but the root cause of disenfranchisement that has occurred throughout the whole of middle and working blue color America. Imho, he has exposed where the seeds of revolution have been sowed. And imo is spot on.

That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good, hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.

Yeah, I'm sure it's got absolutely nothing to do with half a century of corrupt democratic/socialist rule.
Just following in the footsteps of Chicago's 100 year corrupt democratic/socialist rule.
Nothing to see here. Socialist voters with the IQ of a Dust Mite equals no change in the status quo.

To be perfectly clear, my observation and comment was to Angelos insightful quote, particularly this part:
Quote:
past four decades that plunged tens of millions of good, hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.

It is more about the whole of America today, then it is about Baltimore and the current ongoing stupidity there.
Sinhefe, I tried correcting that Roits, try pronouncing it with a British accent, it works a bit, I think?

Baltimore
Baltimore - take the population of Baltimore and take out the black population, then move to the number of folks who marched in the protests - and finally move on to the numbers of looters and burners (I've heard 100 to 1,000).
It appears most of the Blacks were at home watching it in on TV just like most of the Whites.
But the few who were out there stirred up enough crap for everybody.

How is it that this writer blames specific, identifiable criminal acts on unidentifiable, "evil" governmental actors, and this somehow becomes a justifying excuse for destruction of unrelated people's property and unmitigated lawlessness?
"Decades" of injustice, civil rights denial, etc.? A despicable government that purposely moves jobs away, leaving these poor persons without jobs or hope?
This entire issue, much like Ferguson and others, has turned into nothing more than brigands looting and pillaging.
Liberty is a moral construct. A nation cannot have liberty and an amoral populace. John Witherspoon was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and said, "...a monarchy may subsist for ages, and be better or worse under a good or bad prince, but a republic once equally poised, must either preserve its virtue or lose its liberty."
