Southern Poverty Law Center apologizes to Ben Carson, takes him off 'extremist’ list

The Southern Poverty Law Center apologized on Wednesday to Ben Carson after placing the potential Republican presidential candidate on its "Extremist Watch List" -- which is mostly made up of hate groups and white supremacists.

Carson was placed on the list last October by the civil rights advocacy group for allegedly being "anti-gay." The group drew criticism after the listing was reported on last week.

"In October 2014, we posted an 'Extremist File' of Dr. Ben Carson," SPLC wrote on its website. "This week, as we've come under intense criticism for doing so, we've reviewed our profile and have concluded that it did not meet our standards, so we have taken it down and apologize to Dr. Carson for having posted it."

Among the reasons the SPLC gave for initially putting Carson on the list includes a March 26, 2013 interview on Fox News' "Hannity."

In that interview, Carson said, "Marriage is between a man and a woman. It's a well-established pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA [North American Man/Boy Love Association], be they people who believe in bestiality -- it doesn't matter what they are, they don't get to change the definition."

Does Dr Carson run?

What chance does he have of getting through the GOP gauntlet?

Is it possible to make it thru without being forced to compromise?

And my use of the word compromise is more along the lines of MiCE rather than negotiation in a special interest excessively influenced political world.

I heard Dr Carson speak over 20 years ago, and read one of his early books.

I thought he was a good man then, and I think he is a good man now.

Apparently it was thought he might announce tomorrow in Detroit, but FNC just ran a piece (nothing on their website yet) that he's told a local radio station during an interview that he is now a candidate for President.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is suffering from the same problem as the democratic party- They have been hijacked by radical leftists. They have no credibility. Poor Dr Carson. If he went to congress, he wouldn't be admitted to the black caucus because he doesn't go along with the black victim culture...

His stance on the 2nd Amendment is very weak, he's almost pro-gun control. And his prison remarks concerning gays did make me laugh and shake my head.....

The SPLC is actually the main contributor and _ I would argue - is actually RUNNING the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI). They have thoroughly infiltrated the DoD EO training and systems with their leftist, racist hatred.

Tod Starnes of FOX News sent DoD a FOIA on the tie-in between the two and it has - to date - remained unanswered. Got to put that on my bucket list when i come across Starnes' addy. Helps to know where the bodies are buried....
