Seems American Jews love obama. I wonder if they still love him if they knew one of his BFF's was the former leader of the ANC, Nelson Mandela, and that the ANC actually hates Jews?

Hypocrisy is alive and well in South Africa. The African National Congress should be labeled a terrorist support organization. Then again our own idiot in the White House enjoys arming "known" terrorists also.


South African Jewish Leaders to File Charges Against 'Eye for an Eye' Author

The South African Jewish Board of Deputies, the umbrella organization that leads that country's Jewish community, has announced that it is filing charges at the South African Human Rights Commission against trade union leader Tony Ehrenreich for an anti-Israel Facebook post that called for attacks against Jews in retaliation for the death of Palestinians in Gaza--"an Eye for an Eye against Zionist aggression," in his words.

Ehrenreich, who leads the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) in the Western Cape province, and who is also a local leader of the country's ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), had called for attacks against Jews "everywhere" in a post on his personal Facebook page Wednesday. Reached by Breitbart News, Ehrenreich said that he wanted to "imprison" local Jewish leaders "and charge them with war crimes."

The union leader apparently believes that Jewish leaders are "complicit in the murder of the people in Gaza" through their "funding of the Isreali Army" [sic] and "getting SA youth to join the killings in Gaza." The Board of Deputies called both claims "baseless," according to South African news website News24, and alleges that Ehrenreich has engaged in "flagrant" hate speech and incitement, both of which are constitutionally prohibited.

Ehrenreich's Facebook post was first reported by Breitbart News, following numerous tips and after confirming with Ehrenreich himself that he was indeed the author. When asked what he meant, specifically, by "an eye for an eye," Ehrenreich declined to explain and hung up the phone.

The ruling ANC has a recent history of allowing members to make inflammatory statements against Jews provided they are made in a personal capacity.

This is quite a complicated issue. The original Communist Party of South Africa was almost exclusively comprised of Jewish people. The Kremlins man, Colonel Joe Slovo, who managed the terrorist MK organisation that was the ANC military wing was also Jewish. The ANCs most important document, the Freedom Charter was written by a Jewish Communist and even Mandelas speech from the dock when he was found guilty of terrorism ws written by a Communist Jew. Mandela ws a Communist from the early days, so was very close to many Jewish people and there are still some Communist Jews on the ANC benches in parliament.
This antagonism towards the Jews from Ehrenreich has its roots in the Cape Province where the ANC lost Cape Town to the Democratic Alliance, a predominantly white party led by Helen Zille, a Jew. Ehrenreich himself lost the province to Zille, so that is where the antagonism comes from.
Further complicating things is the fact that the ANC has always been a terrorist organisation and sees its friends as other terrorists. This explains why they supported Ghaddafi, Arafat and Castro amongst others.
Other roots of anti-Semitism come from the situation where during Apartheid, the predominant business power was Jewish and this made them class enemies to the ANC on the one hand, but friends on the other because of the Communist link.

Ruth First, Slovo's wife was also a Jewish emigre, and active participant who got hit with a mail bomb as a result.

And their children are all active in mass media film making in some well known films with some well known actors.

Useful idiots? Active participants?

How did the ANC view them then? Now?

Seems counterproductive for the ANC whether they viewed supportive Jews as partners or just useful idiots. Maybe a sign of further devolution and implosion of a South Africa/ANC.

Could it be an indicator for a South Africa's future along the lines of how Idi Amin kicked out ethnic Asians/Indian Ugandans and stole their assets(destroying the merchant class for short term gain).

Jews played prominent roles in Russian/Soviet Marxist/communist revolution. Israel itself is Socialist enough to make a lot of Israeli supporting Constitution/Freedom loving Americans quite confused.

With the involvement if Slovo in MK and the damage they did, it's a shame SA security forces didn't get him.

I always had a problem with Apartheid, feeling more in step with the Rhodesian long time horizon plan for change.

But the Soviet versus Chinese versus naive West conflict fighting in parallel to the black/white conflict I thought was quite simple and clear on who was worth supporting.

I just wish Slovo and First would be alive in 2025 to see the future they helped to destroy.

I agree, the Rhodesian model was much more humane although both Apartheid and Rhodesia's qualified franchise were ways of coping with majorities incapable of running modern day countries. History has emphatically proved that both were far better than the alternative of corrupt and clueless majority rule.
As for the Jewish presence in South Africa? One of the first economic acts the ANC made when given power was to allow the two largest SA companies to change their listings from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange to London. SA Breweries and Anglo American were both Jewish money leaving the country. This may indicate that the SA Jews were ahead of the game when they populated the ANC and the SACP to such an influential level. Perhaps they played both sides so as to win whichever side prevailed?
