3rd or 1/10
I am just going to group and am interested in the opinions of guys who are in the know... If anyone had the option, would they choose 1/10 or 3rd?

Please fill out your profile and post an intro, you'll probably get more responses.

How is it that you get a choice?
Do you have a language that works for both Groups?

I have French and they are sending French guys to both 1/10 (because of Africa) and 3rd. Some guys that have 1/10 are looking to switch with guys that have 3rd so they can stay in the States (because of wife, kids, etc...). I've heard that 3rd is one of the best groups, but I haven't heard much about 1/10.

All of the Groups are good.
I would say to look at the home stations, AORs, and deployment areas to decide where you would rather be for the next 10-20 years.
If you pick 3rd, you are going to be based at Bragg and spend most of your time in the Middle East and Africa. You will also be in the last remaining SFG at Bragg once 7th leaves, so you are definitely near the flagpole for taskings.
With 1/10, you will be based in Germany and deploy in Europe and selected areas of the Middle East. You may also get additional school opportunities there, though 3rd is able to do walk-ins for SWCS schools at Bragg, so that may be a wash. EUCOM and SOCEUR will task you as well.
I know which I would prefer, but you have to decide for yourself.
Good luck.
