Body Armor Prohibition.....

This caught my eye with the all too familiar jingles regarding GUNS....

Quote:
At the end of July, United States Representative Mike Honda (D-CA) introduced H.R. 5344, the "Responsible Body Armor Possession Act." Hmm . . . is he saying that in a dangerous world, it's irresponsible to be without body armor, so he wants to mandate its possession? That would be awfully heavy on the nanny state paternalism (and obviously not within the purview of any Constitutionally delegated power of the federal government), but one could perhaps argue that it's at least well intended.
Quote:
"This bill will keep military body armor out of the wrong hands," Honda said. "It would ensure that only law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders would be able to access enhanced body armor."
Quote:
“There is no reason this type of armor, which is designed for warfare, should be available in our communities except for those who need it, like law enforcement,” Congressman Honda said. “There’s nothing more dangerous than what a well-armored, unstoppable active shooter can do. This bill is common-sense and long overdue.”

Northridge would have been a much better example, but how often does this happen?

The cat is out of the bag already with military plates and steel and ceramic solutions out there. A set of AR500 plates can be made a lot easier than a firearm, and how often have you seen that?

More "do-gooders" who do not understand the real problems, yet think legislation can fix it.

And yet, it could probably pass the legislatures and be signed by governors in at least ten states.

It was already a Felony if you wore one during the "Comission" of a crime!!! All this did was, just like the Firearms Laws are attempting to do, to STRIP the Law Abiding among us of a Tool that would allow us to survive an attack by the unlawful!!!! The unlawful are like the Honey-Badger, they DON'T GIVE A FUCK about the Law!!!

I wonder how this would affect the Bullet Proof Armani crowd that shops at clothiers like Garrison Bespoke.....Mike Honda might well be one of them.

It is good for me, but not for thee...

Could parent be required to fill out a Form 4473 and pass a NCIS check before purchasing a Bullet Proof backpack for little Johnny?

As the world burns, as people drop off the jobless claims report, and the economy sputters........Representative Mike Honda is concerned with Level 4 plates.

Anymore everyday is a Tragic Comedy!
