Cruz will fair better in the general than Trump. The race will not be decided today and there will be time for the candidates to debate eachother..........
Something that Trump refuses to do now that he doesn't have a plethora of people on stage to interrupt.
But hey, he won his home state with just over 25% of the democrat vote. So I guess there is that.

Well....
In your opinion Cruz is a fair better. Cruz maybe a better debater than Trump, but all that really means is Cruz can argue his point, argue like an Attorney. It doesn't matter if the point is right or wrong it is a matter of proving ones point on a subject.
Attorneys argue that their pedophile clients are guiltless and/or coerced into their behavior by little boys anfd girls/or deserve mercy becasue they are products of their childhood environment . If the Judge or Jury buys into their debate the Pedophile gets their walking papers or a 15 year sentence with the possibility of early release.
$5 Dollar Foot Long.....Ted Cruz is such a good debator he probably could have (if he chose to) gotten Subway Jared off with time served and compensated for his time in the slammer.

In my opinion Cruz will only fair better in the GOP world. And if you look at recent stats of public approval of the senate and house you'll see it's at an all time low. And the very reason I will be voting for Mr. Trump. I for one want American great again.
