Iron Law of Oligarchy in action.
However, this assumes a sufficient control over information flow and sufficient concentration of governmental authority (i.e. monopoly on violence as a means of enforcement).
The Internet disrupted prior methods of information control, to which the older (but not younger) oligarchs are slow to adapt, and there's also that pesky 2nd Amendment.
This is why the Internet and 2nd Amendment are under such constant attack.
The oligarchs can see the threat, and they are scared.

Bad News or Good
............................depends on who you support.
Poll: Trump Reaches 50 Percent Support Nationally for the First Time
http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016...t-time-n562061
"...Overall, this week's 6-point swing — Trump up 4 points, Cruz and Kasich down 2 points — is the biggest weekly shift in the poll so far. Combined with his significant win in New York, Trump's rise nationally could be an early sign of consolidation within the Republican Party. ...."
"...The NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll was conducted online April 18 through April 24, 2016 among a national sample of 10,707 adults aged 18 and over, including 9,405 who say they are registered to vote. ..."
Pretty good sample size. Better than those 4 or 5 hundred ones.

I will be interested in seeing who Trump picks as his VP. I don't see it being Cruz, Rubio or Kaisch.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith
That way there would be a continuity of gigantic egos in case of emergency.

Most politicians and media personalities have gigantic egos so no matter who gets the nod we should be covered.

My guess is he will chose a woman as a running mate for obvious reasons or perhaps a minority male since he does not do well there. Either way I am convinced it wont matter and that HRC will be the next POTUS.

If that happens, it happens and would have happened with any of the other GOP candidates as well. Regardless of what happens, attendence in the GOP primaries is up about 9% despite the abysmal line up, forecasting and gaming by the GOPe.
Last June a lot of people were laughing it up when Trump annouced his intentions. It will never happen, There is no way, He will get eaten alive, You can't be serious.....
Never say, never.

I hope she is. I also hope the Dims get both houses of Congress. When this rotten institution comes crashing down it would be best not to have any conservative fingerprints on it.

Trump passes Romney’s popular vote total, likely to break GOP record
|
Quote:
Trump surged to 9.9 million votes, according to totals that include Tuesday’s preliminary results across the northeast and could rise further as the final votes are counted. That’s already more than 100,000 more than Romney earned in the entire 2012 primary season and tens of thousands more than John McCain earned in 2008.
Trump is certain to pass McCain’s total next week in Indiana, but more importantly, he’s positioned to easily pass the modern record-holder George W. Bush — who collected 10.8 million votes in 2000.

If Trump can't beat Hillary, no one can or could have.

Interesting
Scott Walker’s GOP Ignores Cruz Delegate Slate in Wisconsin
http://theresurgent.com/scott-walker...-in-wisconsin/
"...Only four of the 18 delegates on the GOP list were on the list the Cruz campaign sent the state party, meaning the state party ignored its own rules that require it to honor the wishes of the Cruz campaign in naming 15 of the 18 statewide delegates. Among the 18 alternates, not a single one of them was from the original Cruz campaign list..."
Hey, they gave them to party insiders and Rubio supporters.
Looks like the Wisc. "support" was anti-Trump not pro-Cruz.
Told ya' so.

Cruz needs to perform some selfless service, pack it in and do his part in unifying the party and the country

There is no way it can have any conservative fingerprints on it, the conservatives would have to actually have been doing something in order for that to happen.

Accurate assessment, and the sentiment expressed is what I heard from people, anecdotal stuff on the street. (Also, Trump's remarks in the state while he was here did not sit well.) Regarding the media's use of "Walker's GOP" it's worth noting that he's not as enamored with them as some would like to paint, nor they of him.
Sobering reminder for folks that parties are their own deal, they are not part of da Guv, and they owe you NOTHING. If you're a kulak, it's a short-list baby, and you ain't on it - let alone your illusion that you're actually voting for something. Wisconsin is not unique in this. Let's just dispense with the show-biz.
