Today's catch

2 lb. largemouth caught this morning by my 8-year-old. Not too bad -- he refused help and did it all by himself.

This is on the dam at Lake Castaic. Nightcrawler.

Great one, amigo.

Super day.

Nice catch.

Did you keep it or toss it?

I'll have to try Castaic sometime because the fishing at Lake Perris is lousy.

We released it. Tried Perris once and did not have much luck, plus the kids hated the boat. I like Castaic and plan to go back.

Yeahh. Happy Father's Day. The look on your son's face tells the story of a great time. Those are the moments.

You're a good dad. You allowed him to create a memory he'll have for the rest of his life. Well done! Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Father's Day, RL. Not too hard to tell whose boy that is!

Awsome! Can't wait to teach my daughter to fish!

Even happier now that I noticed a fishing forum here!

My younger daughter still talks about an afternoon spent fishing for bluegill at the end of the dock where we moored our boat at the Lake of the Ozarks, near Camdenton, MO. It was over 20 years ago and until she told me, had completely slipped my mind... a 'normal' day for me, but not for her.

We don't pick the 'special' days; they do. Build in lots of days to you schedule, so they have many from which to choose.
