From my experience some weird stuff you catch can taste pretty good.
Caught a shark once and ate it, definatly delicious.

Duke could grill the ass end out of a rotting rat and make it taste good. Compared to what we had been eating, it tasted great, but then everything is relative.

Trying not to take this serious, but from you being in Africa at the time I can never know.

Damn right! Grilling works for almost anything--boiling doesn't...especially with snakes.

new boat w/ open seats for QPs

Maybe i'm rubbing it in but life is good, maybe i just need some Sf guys to come fishing with me drink beer and tell lies. Anyway here is a pic of my new offshore fishing boat and all I'm saying is this is an open invitation to go fishing off the coast of SC for any QPs here. I always said to anybody who was listening that when it was all over i"m gonna get a big boat and go fishing. Well i did it anybody wanna join me
Every time I'm out on the ocean i say a prayer to those who didn't make it back and hope they are along for the ride and smiling. I know G-man is riding shotgun all the time

I think you're onto something there! I see a SF, JTF-6 mission on the horizon!

lets strade trips

Nice boat kingfisher
Tarpon is still on my list of wants so this this spring let me know if your around and wanna take me out for a shot at em. I'll definatley come down for that.
I have never chased reds or trout either. My brother was in the tampa area for awhile but i was TDY to much during that time to get down to fish with him.
Right now on my lake its striper time , we have landlocks running upwards of 30lbs, they are alot of fun.

My Boat Is A Toy

All of your boats make mine look like a toy.
It may have something to do with I'm still using oars.

Speaking of fine fishing spots and Tarpon. One of my all time favorites was Gatun Lake in Panama. Peacock bass by the boat loads. Occasional stray tarpon from lock wash out, though rare.

On the Tarpon note, Shagris River off FT Sherman use to be an excellent spot for Tarpon fishing. One of the 18E in C/3/7 won the Tarpon tourney while i was there (90-93) with a 162lb'r. Sure miss that place, truely a great place to fish.

All time favorites

Rainbow Trout - Priest Lake, Idaho
Cutthroat - Cascade Lake, Idaho
Peacock Bass - Gatun Lake, Panama...(always want to hit Lake Guri, VE but never made time)

Spots;
Muciealago, Costa Rica
Willamette River, OR
Gatun Lake, PN
Cascade Lake, ID
NC coast w/ SF family

Some great memories in these spots with some great SF family members. Newest favorites are starting each day off with my 3yr old son!

FIG, I am just across the bridge from you. Let me know if you want to get together for some fishing when it warms up a bit. Hdgb wants to chase some tarpon under the bridge this spring, maybe we could all get together then.
