After losing my job and house due to the economic downturn in 2011/12, reinventing myself by going back to film school and working in the entertainment industry, it looks like me and the missus will be getting a house again. We close on it Tuesday. In addition, I turned 60 this month which means my retirement $ will finally come through from my military service. God is truly good.

Why would you say that to someone in the South?

Not to split hairs here Joker but my bless your heart was at the beginning of my comment. This is all news to me, I still use the term Oriental sometimes. Always an education to be had here.

Happy Thought of the Day...and rest of the week....Yeah..finally I get to go on vacation....Cabin in Boone NC. Hiking, waterfall viewing, Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway, biking, and Microbrews...LOL..Hopefully my other half does not decide to toss me off the mountain. So, if I don't post for awhile well.......I may need a search party to look for me; or blame him.....

Happy Thought of The Day.....At least it's Friday.....that's the only happy thought I can muster at this time....I just want to cry right about now.....
Wait, I have a Happy Thought.....I want to wish all you Father's out there a very Happy Father's Day......Enjoy this weekend with your families, have a beer, a cocktail, a nice juicy steak, a cigar, lounge around with your feet propped up scratching your belly, take a nap and please enjoy being spoiled for a day.....

Son Graduates
Son called from Pineland yesterday. It was a brief conversation -- he was borrowing a phone from a guerrilla/cadet. He passed Robin Sage and is now a certified 18D. He will receive his tab and beret next month. Thanks for putting up with my questions. I still wish there were dad bleachers like football at Mackall or in Pineland.
Now I fear they will expect him to apply all the stuff he's learned over the past couple of years. It all just got very real.

Not yet, but it will. But remember, that is what he strives (present tense, it is his blood now) for, the Brotherhood.
Congratulations.
