I'm not able to start a thread on the Taps board so I'm posting this in Base Camp for the mods to move to Taps. I did not see this posted anywhere else but I thought some people on this forum would want know about this.
This gentleman lived in my community and recently passed away but I never had the privilege and honor to meet him:

I read that retired LTC Bucky Burruss said that he saw Sammy Coutts attack the 18B NVA Regiment with a company of Cham strikers during Tet '68. Burruss also noted, "When I went to the other side of Nha Trang, I found Sam Coutts there, fighting a different enemy unit. Sam had encountered five of the NVA huddled in a conference and killed them all. When I got there, he was running through enemy gunfire, shielding a couple of children with his body as he got them out of harm's way."
RIP (salute)
