Pathetic narrow-minded conservatives will never understand or thrive as long as they fail to see the inherent connection between the two. It sounds scary but blackmail is nothing more nefarious than the act of compelling people into a particular action, statement, etc.
…in other words, pretend for a moment that there was a discussion between two organizations - “I’m going to interfere with the billion dollars in aid to your country unless you fire the prosecutor that is investigating my sons company” is NOT blackmail. It’s capitalism. It is the free trade of goods and/or services for a price.
I’m going to release a virtual army of SJW’s on your business if you don’t apologize for that offensive social media post - and then you can quietly donate some money to one of my charitable organizations.
Again, the exchange of goods and services.
Maybe a group of folks suggest that an entire city might be set ablaze if their demands aren’t met. Maybe a group threatens to riot if their candidate doesn’t win. Maybe a group threatens the possibility that jurors will be doxed and endangered if they don’t deliver the approved judgement.
It’s NOT blackmail- It’s just the execution of capitalism by Marxists. It is simply a voluntary transfer of goods and services.
People think blackmail is just a skeezy dude in an overcoat threatening to release compromising pictures of people to the media unless you pay them a million dollars – au contraire mesa mis.
In an era of Photoshop, DeepFakes, and CGI movie roles starring dead people - who really cares about that old worn out definition of "blackmail" any more?

Some entities are too Big to Fail or Extort... The CIA (Communist in Action) FBI, Wall Street, you piss them off and you end up like Vince Foster, Seth Rich, Jeff Epstein and others. If your important they will send you a copy of the Zapuder film, may be have the FBI HR team raid your house with CNN to record the incident, (Roger Stone) or have you interview with an Special Agent and claim you lied and better take the plea deal (LT.Gen. Michael Flynn) J Edgar wrote the book on Extortion & Intimidation.

I agree - but to keep in the spirit of a thread about Marxism and how easily "bought" people are coupled with CBTENGR's post about blackmail, i would like to submit a few thoughts for review and comment...
The tech giants like Jebb Bozos, Mack Suckaburger, JP Dorsal, and everyones favorite search engine 'Goggles' have become big enough that they CAN blackmail the government.
Amazon just got a 600-million dollar contract to build a cloud project to support all 17 of our Intel Agencies.
...let me say, that is a giant sized pack of blackmail leverage if you are Jebb Bozos trying to make sure that the gubmint isnt passing any legislation that will hurt your profit margin.
Wait, you're going to investigate my company and hold us accountable for anti-trust laws?
