10th Group Survival Kit

One of the cadre out at PH-II, a 10th Grouper, wore a bunch of survival items around his neck. He referred to it as the "standard 10th group survival necklace." Any of you guys happen to know what those items might have been? I know one of them was chapstik.

I know, I know I should have asked him, but everytime he was around my mind was busy on other things.

Thanks for the help,

Crip

Probably a condom, a platinum AMEX card, and a roll of gold coins.

AMEX Card and COINS? redundant...any gold needed would be part of the bracelet on the Rolex...

In the old 10th it would have been a wad of Deutsch Marks. They kept trying to shake us down before exercises but we were very inventive.

That was standard issue when we went to Scotland in 67 on "First Fling". a 2lt gave us an area briefing before departing and he told us that the NCO Clubs were sedate reading rooms. I guess he got his info from ole timey English Movies. After the first night at an RAF Club the song England Rocks seemed more apropos.

Next thing you know crip you're gonna be the next poster child for SF. Books, magazines, movies, posters...hell you name it.

Just don't stay to long in student company or they won't have much of an entertaining story for the recruits to read about.

Ahh, you forgot the most important items which, like garlic to vampires, drove the likes of the starched fatique, spit-shinned jungle boot, high and tight, beret liner intact, reserved parking slot, do as I say not as I do upper echelon, status seeking, headquarters dwelling denizens: the mustache and German jump boots.

That would have been either a tube of cross-country ski wax or mustache wax, chapstick would leave an un-sightly residue on our beer steins
