If RR plans a rematch she better find a coach that can train her for stand up fighting. She practically had her face/head sticking out exposed the whole match. I did not know that Holm was a lefty. She sure took it to RR.

I don't see it that way, BO. I picture Spider and Lyoto's front snap kicks, etc., and standup going all the way back to CroCop. It was BJJ-heavy when the Gracie's reigned, but since The Iceman Lidell and a couple others, everybody's waitin' on the class KO.

Is it OK to use the term "chickfight", or will I get UCMJ, or what?

That is what got her in trouble in the first place, you cannot teach someone to match up with a world class striking specialist without a) the background b) the natural talent for it and Rousey has neither. She is a grappler plain and simple with some striking just enough to be competitive as long as she can grapple. A student of Gene Lebell eclectic judo which is her area of aptitude and expertise..

HaHaHa...
I only recently found out who she was because I dont watch chick sports at all.
My son came it my room tripping out telling me that "Ron Drowsey" just got kicked in the face and knocked the hell out.
"Who is Ron Drowsey" was my response.
He told me I was retarded and it took me a minute to realize he was talking about the "dont cry" chick.
I dont watch soccer or figure skating either.
...well, I watched Ron Burgundy and Napoleon Dynamite figure skate together but thats the most figure skating I can tolerate at one sitting.
Not a big TV sports fan to begin with.
I might watch the World Series when it comes on next week, but that's about it.
I dont watch Foosball at all unless its the Baltimore Colts playing the Houston Oilers.

That was a fun fight to watch. Styles make fights, and this one had a fantastic striker in Holm, pitted against a world class grappler (Rousey), who made the mistake of leading with her face(it really helps to follow that jab in). Rousey reminded me of a young Mike Tyson, a fighter who for years simply overpowered everybody. Rousey had been doing that up until this fight.
I read up on some of Rousey's fight camp. Her trainer had a really good line for their philosophy, "You have to be the best on your worst day".
She got knocked out, but it was still a pretty good line.

When I competed locally in full contact in the late 1970's and early 1980's I learned very early that no matter how hard you train there is always somebody better out there. I was having a good time until Billy Banks was suppose to show up in my weight class in Youngstown. Thank Jesus for snow and bad weather...
