I think the student jumpsuit that tall guy was wearing was the same one that I wore in 2005!

Good piece of history to watch. FWIW, that 8th SFGA HALO course was run by CPT Chuck Fry (who later commanded the 3/7th in Panama) and Frank Norbury, a HALO pioneer who was the first HALO Tm Sgt in the 10th SFGA (ODA-8) and the JM for CCN's RT Florida's HALO jump into Laos (the first combat HALO jump 28 Nov 1970).
These pics are of our team (ODA-7) undergoing MFF training by 1-10th's primary MFF team (ODA-3) in Altenstadt, FRG, in 1977.

Ahhhh, Gatun DZ. Brings back memories. Also nice shots of the pool on Fort Gulick where I helped teach SCUBA classes to Army dependents (did our checkout dives near Three Sisters islands just east of Portobelo).

now that is a cool piece of history to know. WOW! I can't even imagine the adrenaline, and just sheer amazement, yet probably fear that those guys had with being the first to do it. Kind of winging it, no pun intended. lol
