I have to agree with you here. But, I also have confess that I was one who voted for him. I didn't think through the numbers, just the message.

However, there is no doubt that he paved the way and, in my mind, served as a blueprint for Trump's campaign. Trump used the lessons learned and didn't try to run as an Independent, which will never be successful in our entrenched, two-party, system. So for that, even though we got 8yrs of the Clintons, I am thankful.
I think I posted here a few years ago hoping Ross Perot has just one more middle finger bird flip left in him regarding entrenched American politics.

He certainly seemed the type to get s#!t done.

I wonder what’s in his will?

$1 billion well spent in the right hands could create positive change.

A guy can dream!

I was a big fan of Perot’s running mate Admiral James Stockdale.

It was a shame how he was portrayed by SNL’s Phil Hartman, “Who am I? Why am I here?” soundbite twisted into something cruel, when Admiral Stockdale was both an intellectual titan and a great human being.

Well, Phil Hartman got a visit from karma.

I've always thought that GHW Bush had more to do with Clinton's victory than Mr. Perot did. If Bush hadn't steered away from how Pres. Reagan governed perhaps Mr. Perot would not have seen the need to run.

RIP to a true American original.
