M1078 Project RAT Truck??
I think this would be the perfect project truck.
Thin it out, don't need 22.7K GVWR,
put higher gears in the pumpkins for better mileage,,
add some creature comforts,,
maybe a camper top??
I like the idea of a retro-RAT Truck.

What I like is the single rear axle & cab over. As a 2.5 ton, it's way over built for running to the store for a 6-pack. BUT....
I started watching the "Diesel Brothers" show. These guys are building some outrageous toys.. Check'm out..

Any thoughts about what might be the actual price or references for Iron Planet?
Edit: Well Iron Planet is doing much better than Government Liquidators site currently and winning bids can be found out there, it looks like the big thing might be the gross vehicle weight. I purchased a civilian version ( definitely not apples and apples ) Izuzu NPR, even at 15,000 lbs there are some issues...in Kansas I was warned last time about a DOT number, even though my truck is personally owned and not used for commercial use the weight indicates the necessity of a DOT number based on the weight. The four wheel drive and locking differential along with the beefier construction is very appealing but highway travel not so much. Looks like a nice heavy duty vehicle....and just a few miles away.
