This is not someone I want in the chain of command at the VA overseeing the health and well being of our armed forces members.

He's a US Air Farce Alumnus. The only organization in the military where they'll give a 1st LT the keys to a $50M aircraft with a nuclear weapon on board but he/she has to have an AP escort to draw a .38 Special from the arms room so he/she will have something to defend themselves with if they get shot down.

Not the VA - he's being vetted to become the ASD/HA in charge of the Military Health System - the hospitals and other medical facilities/functions of the DoD.

That's the kind of guy that would definitely make sure that, if you were even having a tiny bit of a bad day - like you got the can of ham & lima beans instead of the stew 'cause you wanted the barter value for peaches - the words "clinical depression" would end up in your record and you'd be flagged later & find your 4473 is denied.
