Al Gore another idiot, global warming myth

Socialists and low IQ's go hand in hand. Al Gore is a moron first class.

Myth of arctic meltdown: Stunning satellite images show summer ice cap is thicker and covers 1.7million square kilometres MORE than 2 years ago...despite Al Gore's prediction it would be ICE-FREE by now

By David Rose for The Mail on Sunday

Published: 17:04 EST, 30 August 2014 | Updated: 03:56 EST, 31 August 2014

Seven years after former US Vice-President Al Gore's warning, Arctic ice cap has expanded for second year in row

An area twice the size of Alaska - America's biggest state - was open water two years ago and is now covered in ice

These satellite images taken from University of Illinois's Cryosphere project show ice has become more concentrated

To put it another way, an area the size of Alaska, America’s biggest state, was open water two years ago, but is again now covered by ice.

The most widely used measurements of Arctic ice extent are the daily satellite readings issued by the US National Snow and Ice Data Center, which is co-funded by Nasa. These reveal that – while the long-term trend still shows a decline – last Monday, August 25, the area of the Arctic Ocean with at least 15 per cent ice cover was 5.62 million square kilometres.

This was the highest level recorded on that date since 2006 (see graph, right), and represents an increase of 1.71 million square kilometres over the past two years – an impressive 43 per cent.

Other figures from the Danish Meteorological Institute suggest that the growth has been even more dramatic. Using a different measure, the area with at least 30 per cent ice cover, these reveal a 63 per cent rise – from 2.7 million to 4.4 million square kilometres.

Yet for years, many have been claiming that the Arctic is in an ‘irrevocable death spiral’, with imminent ice-free summers bound to trigger further disasters. These include gigantic releases of methane into the atmosphere from frozen Arctic deposits, and accelerated global warming caused by the fact that heat from the sun will no longer be reflected back by the ice into space.

What if markets were manipulated by fraudulent data (on a global scale) while some "new" tradable item (let's call it Carbon) were given a compounding value equal to the rate at which it was being removed from the market?

What would happen when "Carbon" becomes scarce due to its prohibitive costs (financially and legislatively) just long enough for everyone to sell out?

What would happen if something were to later trigger said markets (let's call it Ice) and drive the value of "Carbon" into the stratosphere due to the sudden understanding that life depends on "Carbon".

Who would stand to profit?

What would happen to the huddling and freezing masses that were no longer afforded or permitted the opportunity to create or keep Carbon?

I don't believe Al Gore is an idiot. I believe that he relies on idiots to support his bullshit.

My brother is retired Secret Service. He traveled with Al to Glacier National Park. He said Gore stood there looking out over the Glaciers and made a statement about how the glaciers were melting. He thought, no shit, that's how the freekin valley's were created, from melting glaciers. Gore is a dumb ass.

That would make him an idiot by proxy. Wise men pick "wiser" men as aides and advisors. Not much can be said about his intelligence if he chooses idiots to advise him.

I think that you are confusing weather with climate. The overall trend is that Arctic Sea ice is melting. The idea that the last two years of growth is somehow a rebuttal of global warming is akin to a gambler losing a grand on the slots, winning 20 bucks, and concluding that they have won.

Apparently, you never did a school trip to the Smithsonian. This exhibit is still there.

miclo18d, how does your post directly respond to anything that I wrote? I never mentioned anything about being in an ice age or not - simply that the trend concerning the overall area of arctic ice is negative.

Assuming you are right, we need that ice why?
