Former POTUS Jimmy Carter diagnosed with cancer

Did anyone see the press conference today regarding this? One of the reporters asked him what his biggest regret was and what he would change if he could. Carter answered with " I would have sent more helicopters to rescue the hostages in Iran so I could have been re elected".

Any link on this? Either the news out lit misquoted him or he is only getting more stupid with age, last I checked Operation Eagle Claw took place in Iran.

Oh yeah and of course his motivation in it all was to get reelected and not save Americans. I won't be morning for him.

Yep: http://politics.blog.ajc.com/2015/08...arters-regret/ Scroll down a bit for the video. It's worse than stated.

BTW, with glasses, he looks just like my late father-in-law...who hated him.

Wow it definitely is. The one thing he regrets in life and one of the biggest failures ever and instead of sounding sympathetic or mournful he just laughs and plays it off as as joke.

A friend of mine was on the CH53 that was hit by the C130. What Carter should have said was that he should have let the experienced professionals run the mission instead of turning it into a multi-branch fiasco just so nobody's feelings were hurt. There were plenty of SOG and Air Force pilots with experience working over the fence that could have pulled it off...

He was a Navy man, so they (and the Marines) had to get a piece.

It was doomed from the start. As was said, because "everyone" had to have a piece.

It's 2015 and what have we done to Special Operations since?

Everyone has a piece, again.

We really are idiots.
