Recently signed in to A 2-1. Now that they changed the ODA designations to 4 digits (i.e. 1210), it's a little confusing.

I realize this thread is a couple years old but, does 46th Co count? 2-72 to 1-74. IIRC, 46th Co reverted to 1st SFG(A) in March 1972....

Blitzzz- I think we are some of the older guys- I'm 58. I was back at Bragg for the 50th in the Museum Store. They had the unit coins there, which I hadn't seen before. I asked the girl what they were. She said,"Oh, you must be one of the old guys." I took it as a complement and kept quiet....

My 1st assignment

I was a youngster when I was sent to Oki. I was assigned to A-223 and then to 224 after some time. First team Sgt was Msg Cottel a burn out that never wanted to go anywhere. he was replaced by Danny Kling A much better Team Sgt. finily I was Blessed to work under Walter McBroom most outstanding Team Sgt ever. A short guy with handlebar Moustache and damn near bulletproof. Kind of guy that taught you stuff without you knowing it. Blitz

Longrange1947

I see your a distance shooter. I do also got some 1250 hits and reciently been working on a 1600 meter load for 30-06 using a 240 gr bullet. really good to 1300 meters not quite hot enough for 1600. I may not be able to push it that hard. Anyway I srepped outside of the thread a bit, so let me ask you if you got a chance to go to the rough terrain training on Oki and Taiwan? Hey I could change my Name to Longrange1948... Dave Boltz
