What Brian Ross did was not fake news...
....it was erroneous reporting.

Interesting how the "oops" admission was released during the weekend. I'll wager this week's Egg-Nog ration that there is nothing about this "erroneous reporting" mentioned on Monday morning.....
we will see

CNN aided Iraq, besmirched Green Berets 20 years ago

I'm pleased to see that the honest news media won't let this story go away. With all the fake news of the day we need to be reminded that it's been going on for a long time. Damn that internet... Anyone know what ever happened to Peter Arnett

Your memory is fine. There were TV ads that used to do that, prior to the blatant infomercial we know & loathe now.

I'm all for truth in advertising so would support captioning that translated things like "lack of candor", "dissembled", "unnamed source" as:

Liar.

Then again, what's the cost of leaving non-discerning people on their own?
Darwin Awards, or votes?

Make it a requirement that after every story they give up who paid for the content "This News story was sponsored by _________________" PBS does this!
Get with the program CNN,CBS,FOX,CNBC. It is not exposing the source of the story but who paid to follow the story lead.

I guess they find the truth to be painful to hear and simply can't bear it.

Oh well, so sad....

Funny how leftist professors require copious amounts of citations for almost any data point used in an academic paper but leftist news sources tell people they should take them at their word.

As a public serviced announcement, the socially and environmentally conscious reporting at CNN is sponsored in part by:

"Big Pharm"
AstraZeneca
Humira
Otezla

"Carbon belching automakers"
BMW
Subaru
Dodge
Hyundai

"One percenter - financial/insurance companies"
E-Trade
Wells Fargo

"Companies that strip mine for resources or drill holes in mother earth"
Exxon Mobil

The prophetic song from 1983 just a few years after TNN-CNN started in 1980 the evening news was already starting to become slightly more infotainment......Is Ted Turner a hero of the left??

Don Henley – Dirty Laundry Lyrics

I make my living off the Evening News
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
