From Middle East field kitchen, Fort Bragg troops chat with Rachael Ray

From Middle East field kitchen, Fort Bragg troops chat with Rachael Ray

http://www.fayobserver.com/news/2017...th-rachael-ray

"In a field kitchen deep in the arid desert of the Middle East, a team of nine culinary experts from Fort Bragg experiment with new ways to cook the same, bland food they’ve served for months.

Canned cheese and soggy macaroni had become a sad excuse of a comfort food they’d hoped would remind their fellow soldiers of home. The cooks worked off recipe cards, but tweaked spices and sauces...."

Doing the best they can with what they got. Being a cook ain't as easy as some would think.

Too bad Rachel Ray is not a chef........... she is however the oprah of foodnetwork, all mouth.

Then again the Army cooks need all the help they can get. How about we take the Pentagon generals and admirals "cooks" and send them to the middle east?

In the mountains of Afghanistan, purchasing food from the locals at times, we ate better than these folks...

For christ-sakes, go into town and locally purchase some damn food! You're fucking 15 miles south of Dubai....

Dubai? That can't be...the reporter said "deep in the arid desert." How deep in the desert can you be when the freaking water of the Gulf is right beside you?

If you spell A-L-C-O-H-O-L! They'll trek their REMF asses across the middle of nowhere to find it.

Hell! I remember going out to Oro Grande in the early 80s for that shitty-ass "desert" training. Now, that was in the middle of nowhere. However, the REMFs aka cooks and etc. found a way too acquire some goodies.

There are some great eating and drinking places in Dubai. Lots of grocery stores too.
I have enjoyed myself extensively in that city!
Must be some kind of staged event if they are complaining about being way out in the desert. Haven't been to that camp but if it's only that far out then they out to be able to see all the buildings from where they are.
Anything to make tv look interesting I guess

I seem to remember a very small convenience store out there somewhere that sold booze. Since there was a "two beer" limit imposed by our Battalion Commander we made sure and complied by only buying two quarts each.
