Background check efforts start in WI

LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee)'s bill proposal to close the background check loophole on the sales and transfers of guns.
The effort to make criminals of those engaging in transfer of property between 2 free persons is now launched.

That'll really fix things up with the neighborhood shootings that occur daily in Madison & Milwaukee; probably good enough that maybe Chicago ought to take notice & pass something restrictive. Oh, wait....

Yes, I'm sure by passing these new background checks that criminals will now obey the law.

Nice job Iowa

Permission slip to engage in commerce, and permission slip to carry gone.
Nice job Gov. Reynolds. An armed citizenry, inspiring terror in the hearts of elected evil-doers. As it should be in a Republic.
Understand TN has one shortly to be signed as well.

Everytime you make a nefarious politician or aspiring tyrant a-skeered of you a pitchfork gets its wings.

Rules-Laws-Requests:

Elected & Appointed "Officials" should take note that they who think they are anointed to positions of power are there to SERVE the citizens NOT to RULE over them by decree for a lifetime. You lifelong bureaucrats, Comey, Rosenstein, Page, Strok, Shumer, Pelosi, and the rest of the elitist self-serving DC beltway mob the pendulum is about to swing back. The MSM will abandon you the same as they Left Como to flounder in controversy... It's coming to a locale near you.

It's catching

Push back against the Main Leviathan by individual states, prefaced with several citations affirming states' rights. Following that, here's a small sample of the text of a bill introduced in Arkansas:

Quote:
(b) Such federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations that are null and void in this state under subsection (a) of this section include without limitation:

(1) The National Firearms Act, 26 U.S.C. § 5801 et seq.;
(2) The Gun Control Act of 1968, 18 U.S.C. § 921 et seq.;
(3) Any tax, levy, fee, or stamp imposed on firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition not common to all other goods and services that could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;
(4) Any registering or tracking of firearms, firearm 16accessories, or ammunition that could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;
(5) Any registering or tracking of the owners of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition that could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;
(6) Any act forbidding the possession, ownership, or use or transfer of any type of firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition by law-abiding citizens; and
(7) Any act ordering the confiscation of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition from law-abiding citizens.

Here is what the population and elected officials of the individual states must steel themselves against:

Long have they relied upon the Federal teet...

State: Arkansas, Federal Funding Per Resident: $5,080, Total Funding: $35.10 Billion, Benefits Recipients 0.12%, Median Household Income: $47,597

That is the essence of where we find ourselves in modern America.
We are in a terrible rush to sell our freedoms for a profit. Its why so many celebrities seem so willing to shit talk their countrymen over a voting law or gender based bathroom use while simultaneously selling their souls to communist China.

When you sell off your rights, what you get in return are "privileges" and the problem is - you dont get to buy them back
worlds of difference between rights and privileges
...but hey, I got my stimmey check

No dispute there at all. That nipple ALWAYS has serious strings attached, like the center of a gnarly piece of squash. Locally we're going through this right now. Had this other rant ready about what Governors do with that bak-sheesh from Mordor but it's way off-topic for this long-standing thread. F'ers.

NM Governor suspends carry in Albuquerque

Quote:
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, a Democrat, issued an emergency order on Friday suspending the right to carry guns in public across Albuquerque and the surrounding Bernalillo County for at least 30 days following recent instances of gun violence.

The governor said she expects the order to face legal challenges but that she believed she needed to act in response to recent gun-related deaths, such as an 11-year-old boy who was shot and killed outside a minor league baseball stadium earlier this week.

"When New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game — when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn — something is very wrong," Lujan Grisham said in a statement.

The suspension was classified as an emergency public health order, and applies to open and concealed carry in most public places, excluding police and licensed security guards. The restriction is connected to a threshold for violent crime rates met only by the Albuquerque area.
...
The governor's order on Friday also directs state regulators to conduct monthly inspections of firearms dealers statewide to ensure compliance with gun laws.

The state Department of Health will conduct a report on gunshot victims at New Mexico hospitals that includes age, race, gender and ethnicity, as well as the brand and caliber of firearm involved and other general circumstances.

Remember, she started that Covid scam Mask Mandate of hers, for 30 days, under the guise of a "Public Health Emergency."

Glad I got out of that state when I did.
