Crap, I'm tired just looking at the pics! Never seen that before, seen tuff mudders and long endurance bike row run races, (can't think of the name now but he run is cross country and you have to use orienteering). Looks interesting though.

It's a lot of fun. It's a laid back atmosphere. You can go as hard or as easy as you want to. I averaged 180 bpm heartrate for the 40 minute race.

Here's a couple more photos. I biffed it in the mud after making it through once or twice and then ran it afterwards.

The other thing is that it's quite a bit safer than road racing on bicycles so, one can scratch the competitive itch without risking a collar bone.

Mike, that looks like too much work. But I may have to try and say I did?

You should, you'd probably smoke everyone out there.

In the Springs? I'm sure they probably do.

Added some photos of this weeks race. I did two each races on Sat and Sun. It smoked my bags.

Tampa Riverfront CX Race Report

Race report. It was an interesting race, pretty technical with some fun elevation and a lot of roots. I raced 45+ and single speed both days. Day one 45+, flatted. I’d got gapped off the back of a group of 5 led by Jim Sullivan when I slid out in a turn. I spent a lap burning matches to catch back on. So I took a turn too fast, took out a wooden course stake by breaking it off at the bottom and then running it over with my rear wheel. I thought it was going flat but not sure so, I skipped the bike change at the pits. Ended up running most of the lap a 6:30 lap turned into a 13:40 lap. I run tubular on my geared bike. I think I that would have flatted any tire, clincher, tubular or tubeless. Finished 12 out of 20. Day one single speed, finished 2nd out of 5, two guys DNFd. Had the tire pressure just right at 35 lbs. I thought I bottomed out a couple times on my clinchers but didn’t pinch flat.

Second day 45+ felt like I was going flat so I switched to my single speed at the pits (lesson learned on Day 1, when in doubt swap it out). Next time around I swapped it back. The pit mechanic checked it and said it was OK. However, it felt like the rear tire was rolling out on the off camber sections, so I swapped again and rode my single speed for the last lap. Finished 16 out of 21. Day 2 Single Speed finished, 12 out of 20.

Anyway, here are a couple videos

This a video of Aiden Seay the son of Matt Seay a friend here at work. They came out Saturday to say Hi and check out the race. Aiden decided he wanted to race on Sunday. He finished the race and did awesome.

Here are a couple random video clips of me

Course video. That’s me at 1:07 finishing Day 2 single speed and Matt’s son going down the hill in blue at 3:34
