the new Red Dawn movie

So has any one seen it yet? Any good?

How the hell did North Korea get that kinda force projection capability? Oh hell, it’s just a movie...go Wolverines!

The kid (15 year old girl) wants me to take her this afternoon. I am just thankful she didn’t ask me to see that Twilight movie

Quite doubtful - Anecdotal intel was that the producers ran out of funding at one time, and there was some scuttlebutt that the Chicom villain wouldn't fly for reasons of PC.

SF18C, my HH6 is with you. Even she said, "WTH?!? North KOREA?" There then followed some period of deep uncontrollable laughter. Yeah, we gotta go see it.

I heard the reason it’s not the Chinese is due to the fact that they own a major portion of the producing studio or distro company!

The kid and I are stuffed and headed out the door in a few! Wife is going to stay back and conduct those “priorities of work” following a big meal, she has zero interest in going to a “war movie”. How did 3 people make so many dirty dishes??

Red Dawn Redux

I went to see it yesterday afternoon after I realized that there was NO ONE ELSE in my office at 1400! The movie is what it is. It's a REMAKE. It was entertaining but nothing can compare to the original. The original Red Dawn scared the SHIT out of America because it could have actually happened. But this movie did make me think about something... if anyone ever tries to invade our country in a large conventional manner in the next 10-20 years there will be insurgencies rising up all over the country with the number of veteran's of two counter-insurgency wars.

I will say it again... DIBS on Area Commander of West Virginia...

And leave the real work for the rest of us?

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

Great to see the "Send me!" spirit that captured my interest 50 yrs ago. Have always thought the best way to continue the original would be to have the Powers Boothe (shot-down AF COL) remark come true, maybe with some split-teams dropped into the stew as seasoning.

"The Government is thinking about sending some Green Berets here to help you kids out."

I think I was in the 9th ID at Ft. Lewis when the movie came out. I liked it and even remember hearing a few references to it while attending Phase III of the SFQC.
