Correction.
The only easy day was yesterday. (BUD/S motto)
There really isn't any sort of official motto in the teams.

FEBA = False Enthusiam, Bad Attitude
As for the "ruck" remarks, I've heard it rendered as:
[E-MAIL, SOLDIER TO WIFE] When I get off the plane you better be there with a mattress strapped to your bacK.
[E-MAIL, WIFE TO SOLDIER] I'll be there, with mattress. You better be the first man off the plane.

I have to follow that??
I waited. Nobody posted. Jeeeez, OK...
When I was in jump school ( summer of '68 ) the black hats very seldom failed to finish a sentence, command or butt chewing without this one:
STAY ALERT..... STAY ALIVE!!!
Not to mention the signs and banners all over reinforcing that.
Ugh.... one more, yet localized.

PS
I swear there was a third... came to me a year or so ago..... anyway this site does tend to awaken old memories

Fortune Favors the Bold - Recon CCN
Kill them all let God sort them out, derived from Kill them all God will take care of his own by the Commander of crusades against the Cathers in France.
Kill for Peace (one of my favorites)
Recon - always in Front - Royal Thai Marine Recon
March or Die - FFL

"Fortune Favors the Bold" and variants are also the motto of a number of other military units, as well as numerous family coats of arms.
Audaces Fortuna Juvat - Portuguese Comandos, who also use the less official motto "Os Comandos nâo morrem, reagrupam se no inferno" ("Commandos never die, they just go to hell to regroup").
Fortes Fortuna Juvat - Jydske Dragonregiment (Jutland Dragoons). This is actually closer to "Fortune favors the strong" and sounds much nicer in Latin than in Danish: "Lykken hjælper den stærke" or "Lykken står den kække bi."
Fortes Fortuna Juvat - Third Marine Regiment, US Marine Corps.
Fortes Fortuna Juvat - 334th Infantry Regiment, 84th Infantry Division, US Army. From 1946 to 1952, this was the 334th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
