isn't it a oxymoron to say Lite beer. Kind of like sex on the beach, sans the women.
Guinness.............. from Tap........ with a smile.
It is great to see all the good beers available today. Oregon is rich with micro brews on tap and very fine bottled beers in the store.

1. Newcastle, Pure Blonde, Hobgoblin
2. James Squire Golden Ale, Little Creatures
3. Red Oak Belgium Chocolate Stout, Nelson's Blood "Blood is back!"
Yeah, yeah, I know, who puts chocolate with beer! It actually works, and it's the first ever dessert beer I've tasted.

Found a really good new German beer this weekend at the local German pub.
Dinkle Acker Dark.
And yes, I ordered it only because the name made me laugh out loud.... turned out to be an excellent, smooth dark German beer.
Anyone else every heard of this?

I'm from the PacNW so I grew accustomed to a large selection of really good beer so my list is based off being back home:
1. Bass, Sam Adams
2. Alaskan Amber, Moose Drool, Fat Tire
3. Dead Guy's Rogue Ale, Puget Sound Porter from the Harmon in downtown Tacoma

Oh The Omissions
Hey you Aussies; where's the Foster?
Special: Old Frothingschloss ("The Pale, Stale Ale; the Beer with the Head On the Bottom"). Brewed by that very definition of world class hops processors - Iron City. It was brewed and canned every Christmas and it was adorned with photos of very select bathing beauties (Oh Yeah). Caution this is only for the most discriminating palates.

That would be Rogue's Dead Guy Ale. Rogue is also one of the pre-eminent brewers in the country. Just about any of their beers is worth the time and money. For the East coast folks I looking for bold beers check out Dogfish Head in Rehoboth Beach DE.

I doubt anyone will know the brands but what the hell:
1. Alexander Kieths India Pale Ale
2. Rickards Red, Clancys Amber ale
3. I have to go with Surgicalcric on this, I tried some Killians Red in Virginia last month and I'm hooked! Impossible to find in the pubs here though.

Depending on which version of brewing history you believe, Alexander Kieth is credited with the "invention" of the IPA which stands for India Pale Ale. The IPA is named such as it was a beer brewed specifically to withstand the harsh conditions onboard ships on their voyage from the UK/Europe to India where the British had troops stationed. The product was supposed to be blended once on station but it apparently did not happen and a new style was born.

I still put Shiner Bock at the top of the list, the beer is great and does not break the bank.

1. Yeungling
2. Corona / Guiness
3. Something new(to me), depends on the location, but I always try a new beer if the location permits. Preferably a dark beer.
