RIP, Sir.

I met Jeff when I was on ODA 035 in 10th Gp. He was a Lt with the MP Det that was on Panzer Kasern. I was a friend of his Co CDR Cpt Cris DeWitt.

Jeff had a great scene of humor, always making us laugh. The three of us hung out quite allot. We would party down in Stuttgart or do some kind of extreme activity, like rafting in a CAT 5 rapids in Austria or ride our mountain bikes down a steep hill and see who could go the fastest. It was crazy..

I remember telling him that he should go to the Special Forces Qualification Course and get out of the MP Corp. I then PCS to Ft Carson CO. and did not hear from Jeff again. I often wondered what he was up too and if he took my advice and went to the Q course. When I heard of his death I got my answer, I felt guilty for a moment and then I realized he died doing what he loved. Protecting this great country of ours and doing it with the most highly trained men in the US Army.

Rest in peace Jeff, I will miss you.

Although I did not know him, he was from my area. I am reminded of his service every time I am at one of the local restaurants where there is a large poster memorializing his life and service.

R.I.P., Sir.
