Alan (Al) Anthony Knox, 49, Clarksville, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Pastor Kim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday and from 10 am until the hour of the service Friday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born September 20, 1960 in San Francisco, CA. He was retired from the US Army, 5th Special Forces Group. He served honorably in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was a Field Representative with Blackbird Technology.
He was a loving husband, father, and son. Survivors include his wife Cynthia Brazell Knox, Clarksville; children, Brandon A. Knox and Megan Knox, Clarksville; granddaughter, Lilyan E. Knox; father, Alan D. Knox, Sparks, Nevada; mother, Patricia O'Sullivan Thomas, Sun City West, Arizona; brother, Kevin Knox, California; sister, Lianne Knox, Sparks, Nevada; paternal grandmother, Lillian Knox, California; and in-laws, Robert and Mary Lou Brazell, Fayetteville, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 150 Richview Road, Clarksville, TN 37043.
Arrangements entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville, Tennessee 37040. Online condolences may be made at www.neal-tarpley.com.

wow this is a suprise to me. Im a former 5th SFG member as well. I still remembering talking to AL about how bored he was at the car dealership, and how he found a job w/ blackbird. Al was very liked and great guy. My prayers goes to his wife and family.
