I had a Dalmatian that smiled as well- vet told us it was a compliment to how highly evolved in human interaction he was- sounds like Josephine has that same rare quality!

My little Buddy!
21lb Jack Russel, Pomeranian Mix named Roxanne.....Roxy for short. She accepts being called anything from Buddy, little Buddy, Shithead (ala The Jerk), Booger, and HEY...GET YOUR ASS BACK INSIDE!!!
Great dog, and this coming from a guy that has only ever had large dogs or Blue Heelers for cattle dogs growing up.
Utterly worthless for anything except stress relief and companionship.

They were both pups when I left... my wife sent me these last week. Oakley (on the left) is less than 6 months old and already 40lb, Mollie (on the right) is right at 6 months and is 35 pounds.

Chloe
When she isn't eating me out of house and home or jumping on the trampoline, Chloe can be found hiking, laying on the couch monitoring the backyard or playing with every kid in a mile radius. She's a full breed Great Dane, but may be on the smaller side currently weighing only 125 lbs and standing 32" at the withers. She'll be a year old in a couple weeks.

Kumori at 9 months and 90 pounds. He's 18 months old now and just over 100 pounds.
He was on Death's doorstep a couple of months ago, but has recovered well.
