How do you take it? strong, black, unsweetened- hot, iced or room temp doesn't make any difference

How do you make it? pot a day at home

Do you grind your own beans or just purchase pre-ground coffee? grind my own I order from Gevalia-which is great coffe delivered right to my home every 6 weeks

What's the best you've had? the first cup of the morning. seriously, the best was Jamaican blue(I know I'm supposed to say Kona but I didn't really care for it.

The worst? no idea what kind, but it was served at a conference I attended-actually undrinkable

Do you grab coffee on the road and if so,whose? I usually bring coffee with me, but I'll drink what's available when I run out on the road. I'm too much of a caffeine addict to be a coffee snob.

Bulletproof Coffee

I buy Dark Roast coffee from Pete's Coffee. Usually a French roast. I brew enough for two mugs. In each mug I add a tablespoon or two of organic butter and some coconut oil. Blend to a froth and enjoy. It sounds unusual, but once you try it, you'll find it difficult to drink coffee any other way...

I use Seattle's Finest #5 Dark Roast ($7.49/lb.) when I cant find Peet's French roast ($11.99/lb.) on sale. I use a #4 ceramic "pour over" with an unbleached paper filter filled 1/3 with finely ground coffee placed on top of my mug. I nuke a Pyrex decanter filled with 2 cups of filtered water for 5 minutes til boiling then pour over. It takes a minute or so to drip through then I add one teaspoon of raw sugar and some half & half. Stir and enjoy. One 16 oz. cup per day.

Dillanos Double Dark or Special Dark, freshly ground using a burr grinder. I alternate between french press, stovetop espresso and drip coffee, all made with spring or filtered water. Usually no accoutrements, I prefer it black, but will do butter or MCT oil on occasion. At work I use a pour over with #4 gold mesh filter. I worked my way through college at a traditional Italian coffee place, so I developed a taste for good coffee and never looked back. When I'm on the road or in the field I don't discriminate, as long as it's hot, not decaf and made within the last 72 hours I'm good.

Kerrygold in coffee is pretty good stuff, I'll do it on mornings where I will be away from civilization for the day. It holds you for quite a while. Beware jumping into the coconut oil too quickly, it will cause some, well, interesting results.

How do you take it? Black and strong

How do you make it? French press, still hunting for an old fashioned perculator which makes the BEST coffee ever.

Do you grind your own beans or just purchase pre-ground coffee? Grind it fresh

What's the best you've had? Anything from my LOCAL roaster, pick it up the same day they roast it. https://www.ihaveabean.com/ I've sent this overseas before, it goes over well...ask Crip!

The worst? Anything pre-ground in a can.

What would you recommend? My local roaster.

Do you grab coffee on the road and if so, whose? Rarely, but have been known to stop in Starbucks on occasion.

I also have a Keurig, can make a 1 cup of my coffee or use the k-cup. I order this from Amazon.com and love it. San Francisco Bay Coffee OneCup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, French Roast

I've been hooked on this for several years. Grind the beans myself and brew in a French press.
New Mexico Pinion Coffee
And no, it doesn't taste like pine nuts.

Black and strong. At home and the first cup for drinking on the way to work each morning by preference from this local vendor: http://www.cactuscreekcoffee.com/about.htm (previously discussed in another thread). Never had anything from them that wasn't exceptional. At work, it's whatever swill we can buy at the commissary; usually Maxwell House or Folgers. We were using Maxwell house exclusively because the empty containers worked exceptionally well for reloading components - and I was able to collect several every week. Unfortunately, they changed the design and the new ones aren't as nice so for now we're sticking with Folgers because I think it tastes better. (When I'm the one consuming 2+ pots dailly, I get to dictate!)

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

How do I take it: If mother nature didn't put it in the bean I don't put it in the coffee. Black and strong.

What, Kuerig, yes, Kuerig cups. I have used about every damn thing to make coffee, from french press to espresso pots. Find the cups expensive but good. Since I have cut back form 3 pots a day to about 4-5 cups it is not bad. The coffee I like best and buy is, wait for it, Tree Hugger, and Sumatran Blend. I have found Tree Hugger to be very good and smooth. It is full bodied and does not leave a taste in your mouth.

I grind my own for the espresso pot. But use it only when I am having an espresso with Sambuka.

I used to mix half and half, Folgers Classis and Maxwell House. It made a fine cup of coffee, of course at 3 pots a day, my taste buds may have been a bit off.

Best coffee - Tree Hugger, never have tasted a better cup.

Worse, too many to write here.

On the road I drink whatever I can find, not into Starbucks but will drink it.

In Beirut we would take packets of GI instant coffee and pour The US Navy brew over top and mix. Kept us alert enough to keep track of every Shiite, Muslim and Christian in the Bekka Valley...Dad relates that in the field he'd pack a GI sock full of GI coffee, tie a knot in it, throw it in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and enjoy. He also bivvied with grenades in his boots. Good times. Good times.

If you can get your cups at Amazon get on the auto delivery plan, you can save. I get 36 k-cups of the SF Bay French Roast (which is excellent) every month for 15.00, which is a 15% savings. Since I only drink 1 cup during the week and 2 on weekends that lasts me right about a month.
