Mossberg 500 Firing Pin Spring
Good afternoon all,
I just want to let you guys know that a Maintenance Advisory Message of sorts was released about the M500 firing pin springs. I don't know if you guy's use them on a regular basis, but its good info if you have a privately owned one. A case occurred when the muzzle of a 500 struck the ground, it fired. Luckily the Marine wasn't hurt, but it incited an investigation which came to the determination that the weaker 8-Coil firing pin spring needs to be replaced with the stiffer 5-Coil spring. We were notified of this as I attended a course out in Crane, IN last week. Have a good one!

"It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising their sovereignty. Usurpation is then an easy attainment, and an usurper soon found. The people themselves become the willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin." - President James Monroe
