Bone Marrow Donor

I recently gave bone marrow (a few days ago) and am at home recovering. They took the marrow out of the back of my hip bone (near the lower back). Talking to the doctors they said recovery could take around two weeks with a month being about average.

However none of the medical staff were prior service, so specific questions regarding rucking and endurance events were answered with best guesses or blank stares. When I brought up (and explained) my upcoming SFAS train up one nurse asked if that meant I wanted to 'go eat snakes'.

I have an SFAS date in September and was wondering if anyone here has donated before and could share their experience or give any advice regarding its affect on their endurance and how their hips/lower back felt when they started rucking again.

Thanks for your time!

PS I could not find similar posts when running a search, apologies if I missed something.
